  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Went online to build our 2022 Telluride; got it finished and phoned the dealer only to learn that online orders for 2022 are no longer being accepted. Can anyone verify this?

Not sure what you mean by online order… the only way to order or get a Kia is through your dealer. The website is just a shopping tool.

Try a different dealer. That one doesn't want to order for you. Probably they'd rather have you come in so they can try to sell you one from inventory with a markup- if they have one.

Correct. One first can "build" the product, second present it to the dealer, and under normal conditions, have the ordered filled by the factory. The dealer shared with me that this was no longer an option. A corporate spokesperson in California later confirmed this for me via a phone call.
Evidently demand has far outstripped supply not just for purchase of the end product but also, I'm guessing, the parts on hand inventory at Kia to meet the demand of special orders. I'm guessing they are optimizing their in stock parts to best get anything out the door as quickly as possible.

Thanks; already tried that. Went to a different dealer who had absolutely nothing on the floor and one sales rep sitting at a desk with a similar story that they can't get any product and don't know when they will. This led me to search for similar quality SUVs only to learn the Hyundai Palisade is in a similar fix as well as a few other makes.
We can afford to wait until things return to some sort of normal.

Dealers are definitely still accepting orders but given the shortest time frame I’ve heard of 3 months that would most like put you very close to getting a 2023. You might see an increase in msrp.

I wonder if that is why they might not be accepting your order? Based upon the projections of how many are in the queue, maybe they aren't wanting to take any more 2022s as they feel they will have to be switched over to 2023s before your order could be filled and that would require lots of changes (likely a new price, maybe new color options/combos, maybe new trim levels, etc)? I don't know.

This very well could be, even so, as a retired salesman (28 years) I would do my darndest to advise and guide a prospective customer through that corporate morass and hold for the prospect of a possible 2023 sale instead of a "take it or leave it," response. We'd be happy to buy a '23 model and would be willing to wait. There used to be an old saying in sales that went something like this: "Folks don't care about how much you know, as much as they want to know how much you care."

I didn't get that, so I thought I'd join your forum to learn from the folks who may have already bought a Telluride. I've learned a lot--and you guys aren't working on commission!!!
