• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... SuperiorTek 3.0 Wireless Carplay Adapter

Thanks for the info. I’m always suspicious when I see so many great reviews on a product. Glad it’s working well for you.

On second day with a similar Ottocast Air. So far it’s worked great. Smaller than some options I considered, which allowed me to Velcro mount it to inside of the flip-up compartment cover and it’s totally out of the way of the wireless charging pad.

I ended up buying the Hieha. It’s been working perfectly. No lag whatsoever. It’s very small. I also double-sided taped it to the under side of the lid. It’s totally out of the way so you can still easily charge your phone.
Just purchased this for $59.99 on Amazon so I’ll be interested in seeing how well it works on my 2022 SX-P. Figured if it works well, $59 is a great investment for dollar value.

I’ve been using it for more than two months. It’s been working flawlessly.

Thank you for following up after purchase! I just ordered one as well. Really excited to have wireless carplay

I've been using it as well for the last few weeks since picking up the Telly and love it. Many times for short trips, my phone stays in my pocket since there is no charging required to run around town. The wireless carplay is great then since I don't have to keep taking my phone out and connecting it via wire each time. When I do take my phone out, I just put it in the little cup tray in front of the cup holders (2022 model) or lay it down on the wireless charging pad.

The only issue I've seen is every once in awhile, I may have to pull the plug out of the car's USB port, let it sit for a min or so, then plug it back in. I've noticed this mostly on the short stops to run into the fast food restaurant to pick up a mobile order or going into the supermarket for a quick pickup. Longer stops like coming home from work at night, then getting back in the car the next day never seem to be an issue. I would say this issue is rare and infrequent. Certainly not enough for me to stop using the device compared to the amount of use I get from it.

Bought one too, love it!

I'm using the Hieha with my iPhone 14 Pro. Has anyone had an issue with Google Maps just showing up as a black screen? Mine does this probably 50%+ of the time. When this happens, I can only fix it by opening Google Maps on my phone. As soon as I do this, it instantly loads maps on the screen. It's not the end of the world, but it's pretty annoying that half of the default Carplay dashboard is a big black square until I get my phone, unlock it, find GMaps, etc.

Maybe I'll have to reinstall Apple Maps until I can figure out why it's happening :cautious:

No issues with my Ottocast Air 2. Works in both our ‘23 Xline SXP and ‘17 Sorento.

Thanks for the feedback.

Last night Waze never updated my location on the head unit. I opened it on my phone, and tried to have it navigate to my destination via phone and head unit, but Waze just sat at the starting point of our trip the entire ride, never once updating location or showing us moving.

Anyone else experience this as well?

Just picked up my 2023 SX-P X-Pro. Will post pictures and story in main thread soon. The first two things I did was installed TUX Floor Mats and tried the CarlinKit 3.0 Wireless Carplay dongle. The Carlink 3.0 was easy to setup, however the lag on the map apps (Waze and Google) was unacceptable. Returned it for the Ottocast U2-Air.

My son could not get the Ottocast U2-Air to connect right out of the box. I updated the Ottocast firmware and I had no issue connecting. It auto-connects using bluetooth to setup a wi-fi data transfer. NO-LAG. I have also had no issue with my phone switching back to home wifi when I go inside. I still need to try and run a hotspot off my phone while also connected to the Ottocast before I will claim a complete success. However, even if there is an issue with running a hotspot, I will keep it because my youngest is the only one without a phone and she can use her mothers or siblings WiFi-hotspot if necessary.

I bought the OTTOCAST 2022 5gh for $69.95 on Amazon. Love it!

It seems as if the quality and reliability of these devices has really improved. A bunch of good options out there now. I went with the Hieha and it was $50. Works flawlessly.
