Speedometer not working

Just checking to see if the replacement of your instrument cluster worked? I'm going on week 3 now and they called yesterday to say they have ordered a new instrument cluster, so I am hoping this resolved the issue for you. If not - did they find anything else?

Following this thread definitely would like to know the outcome. If all it took was an update to the cluster or they actually had to replace it all because of an internal electrical issue failure.

I had this issue several weeks ago. I was driving it and everything was fine. Stopped for an errand, got back in and started driving and realized HUD and speedometer weren’t working. I was close to my house, went there, parked in garage, waited 15 min and still nothing. Had to get back to work. Drove back, called the local dealership, earliest appt was three weeks out but was told I could drop it off and they would look at it as soon as they could. was going to drop it off after work. Got in it and it started working again, maybe 45 min later. Still took it in. They looked at it the next day, no codes, no bulletins, so they said it must have been a fluke, guess not if so many are experiencing the same problem. Now it worries me it will happen again.

Anyone have any updates for root cause or what was fixed? Mine started happening intermittently in early July, and has been out constantly now for the past 2-3 weeks. At the dealership now (took the earliest appt they had, scheduled 3 weeks ago), with it still out, and they don't know what the issue is after a few hours with the car. Now need another month before they have time to perform diagnostic work.

I'm having the same problems as most others, with main cluster not working (aside from single red airbag light), as well as HVAC cluster, drive mode lights, auto start-stop, drive mode, etc. Most buttons seem to work (auto start-stop, blinkers, HVAC controls, etc), though they said the drive mode knob and possibly a few others seems to not be functional.

A little concerned that they're stating repairs might not be covered if critters chewing through wires, though that seems unlikely with several experiencing seemingly identical issues.

Started occurring with around 10,000 miles, maybe at 11,800 now on my 2020 EX.

I’ll be sure to post the final results. My guess is that a specific component failed in the cluster (in the power supply section) and with the current chip shortage, it’s taking super long for them to manufacture enough replacements. It’s a bummer that manufacturers don’t do component level repairs these days…

Any updates? I've been following this thread since this first happened to me 3-4 months ago and of all the people who have experienced it no one has really answered with what has caused this issue. Is Kia making people sign an NDA upon fixing it? ha.

Thanks for the suggestions, fellow Telluriders! The same thing happened to me. Locked car when I got home. Left it locked for over 30 minutes and it works fine now.

Anyone having these issues with at 22’s?

Yes. 3000 miles. Two months old this week. 2022 heads up display was 0. Digital 0 and analog 0. Restarted 3 times yesterday. I’m going to check it again this morning.

Just experienced this issue as well on my 2022 SX prestige with 12k miles. Speedometer and heads up display are both stuck at 0 mph and therefore my cruise control will not work. Nearest dealer to me is 45 minutes away

Disconnect the battery and reset the computer.

By disconnecting the battery. For 15 second's, It resets the Telluride's computer. If that doesn't work have the dealer reset it. Or you can reset it yourself with the reset factory. On your Telluride screen settings.

Happened on my drive into work today. I parked at work and came back about 8 hours later. Now it’s working again on the drive home. So this sounds consistent with others here that said turning off, locking and coming back later seemed to “fix” the issue.

Miles are still being recorded. I was kinda hoping something good like that would at least happen, but no.

The dash was working, except the MPH stayed at 0.

Yeah that would only be the good benefit. Hopefully you have this fixed ASAP. Definitely let the dealership know right away.

Just happened to me today. Vehicle started and speedometer showing zero. Let it sit 20 mins. Started driving and it worked again. 79k on my '21 telly night sky.

Had it happen to us in our 2022 Telluride SX. Pulled the positive terminal on the battery to do a hard reset and worked.

Just hit this with my 2022 telluride this morning. Soft reset did not fix it but the hard reset did.
