• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... DIY Transmission Fluid - Drain and Fill

For those that have done the transmission service of drain and fill. Did you guys replace the o rings and aluminum crush washer??
Crush washer yes, orings no. Crush washer happens to be the same as Honda Odyssey/Pilot/Ridgeline (which I have one of each).

ALWAYS replace the crush washer with a NEW one. Regardless of the application.
Besides it being the seal to prevent leakage, reusing sees one over-tighten in an effort to regain the seal. This does two things; Stretches the crush washer to a larger diameter. Also makes one over torque the threads. There's a potential for stripping the threads.
The washers are VERY cheap!

I’ll definitely replace the washer. Was just curious about the o rings that it says they also have to be replaced.

I was curious about the O rings as well. Wondering if anyone has the part number for those?

Okay, I just got around to doing the ATF Fluid on my Telluride at 68,000 miles. Raised the car in the front and back so it would be level. Then I removed the entire black plastic cover that is underneath. I noticed I have an oil leak which is pointing to the plastic oil filter housing where it mounts to the side of the engine. I bet that plastic rubber gasket is no longer doing its job. I am taking the car in for warranty tomorrow to hopefully get that resolved. I also noticed the passenger front axel boot is leaking. I believe that is also under warranty. Back to the ATF drain and fill. I removed the top plug. I then went underneath and removed the drain plug and let it all drain out. After that I proceeded to remove the plastic side drain and fill plug. I cleaned and installed the bottom drain plug back with a new washer. I then only used that side drain plug to see when the new fluid started to come out and then plugged the side hole up when I noticed the new fluid coming out. Like most have commented here I measured the old fluid that came out and it was 3.5 quarts. One thing I did notice when I started to add the new fluid was that the new fluid started to leak out before I finished putting the 3rd bottle of ATF. So I am guessing you should add a little after you drive around and go through all the gears. Other than that it was fairly easy. Keep you guys posted on what they tell me tomorrow at the Kia Dealership.
