If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Was looking at TellyStats regarding daily SX builds over time. As @StephenCantrelle says, looks like this is not unprecedented, but still kind of annoying when you're waiting for one! Last year there was similarly an SX drought from late March to early May, and again from mid-May to early June. Who knows how long this one goes on, but with history as a guide it could be a few more weeks I imagine.

Same gaps in Spring 2020 for both EX and LX, so I think this was pandemic related. So I guess the current gap is relatively unprecedented! Only other significant gaps are Christmas - New Years.
Look how much EX has cranked up in the last three weeks - Making more EX per day on average than ever. While SX is basically non-existent.

The longest previous gap that is showing in the chart is 6 days.
Currently, only 4 have been made since 4/6/21.
Doesn't seem like the normal pattern to me.
There is more to this than what is being told.
Probably only Kia higher-ups really know what's going on.

Wow if that graph is correct. Looks like Gravity Gray has been the least produced I love that.👍 I see a lot of Pearl white, and Miss Green Telly’s around town. Hardly any Gravity Gray. Maybe that explains it 🤔😁
These gaps in Spring 2020 could have quite possibly been pandemic related though, so who knows?

I agree about more going on than what is being said, see my edited second post. I think the previous gap was from the pandemic and this is new territory. My guess is either parts not available on SX or a significant change coming.

Here's the link for the Charts and filter tool:

Here's you All-Time exterior colors across all trims by month.

Sangria, Black Copper, Everlasting Silver, Wolf Grey are the most rare.

GG is indicated on the chart with Green in 2019 - 2020-06-01 and then indicated with Purple from that point on. Weird that the switched color on the legend when the new colors were added to the chart. Pretty fun tool to play with for a Stats and Telly nerd!

No it's definitely not the least produced. The data is misleading because there are two spellings, "Gray" and "Grey". Gravity Gray is fairly popular. For the last 12 months, it's actually the third most common color, behind Glacial White Pearl and Ebony Black. It's every so slightly more popular than Dark Moss.

EDIT: However, my particular combination (Gravity Gray + Dune) is extremely rare, with only 125 of those being produced in the past 12 months. (y)

I'm waiting on my SX, and my dealer gave me an ETA from Kia of Mid-may, but I'm getting nervous...if it doesn't start production next week I'm concerned I won't get it before they cut over the '22s, which means I"ll have to start my order over again, and I really want the car before a road trip in June.

Here’s my take from a biomanufacturing standpoint: this is all supply chain related with respect to final deliveries from vendors. Some industries have a perfect JIT operation, but I’m sure there is some final tally being done at KIA before stopping production to minimize excess inventory. After the final tally on the telly is done, the final batch will be produced then we will see another lull until the 2022 production process is validated.

/hand waiving.

I am right there with ya. Even have a June road trip planned. Fingers crossed 🤞for both of us.

My dealer just confirmed that mine was accepted with an ETA of 5/25. I know Stephen Cantrelle had said in another thread that he has '21 SX models that aren't expected in until June

Gravity Gray SXP Nightfall w/ Dune Brown aka Dark Knight
Ah, another man of culture ;)

Finally some SX on failcat. Not mine but some of you are getting closer.

This is not uncommon as they build in runs. They also may be short specific parts. It took us forever to find an EX with towing package. Turns out KIA was short parts and not building them for awhile.
