• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone else noticed little black spots on their vanity mirrors? It does't wipe off with alcohol or windex, and appears to be below the glass?!

Here's a video of what I'm talking about: IMG_0481.MOV

(Apologies for the Christmas music - the video is from a few weeks ago now 😀 )

Hey - my ‘21 Dark Moss SXP also has the same issue. I brought it in and replacement visors were ordered. Still need to get it on to make the switch.

Here are some stills to make it easier to spot. Hard to distinguish from blemishes on your hand at a quick glance. Haha. Maybe hold up a white piece of paper next time to the mirror.

I will need to check if my mirrors have this issue.

ha! no hand blemishes here... i was a former hand model! (j/k)! but those are the marks i'm talking about. i tried to photograph them but they wouldn't focus, so the video was the best alternative.

I just checked mine, build date October 2nd 2020, and saw no blemishes. Maybe they sourced the mirrors from a different source in later months?

I took delivery the day after you, so might just be a random thing!

What was your build date? (On plaque on inside driver’s door)?

Have you ever sprayed cleaning products on your mirror? Wondering if it was moisture around the mirror that eventually got under the glass.

Maybe high humidity in your area?

never, we noticed it almost immediately after delivery. also very low humidity here in the midwest in the winter.

If you use an ammonia based cleaner it can create these spots (or your dealer did during vehicle prep). Normally starts at the edges, not the middle.

did you take a razor to the mirror to see if they will “ scrape off”?

they are below the glass, you can see that if you press your finger near them that it reflects below your finger. i've tried scraping with my fingernail and you cannot feel them further confirming it's below the glass.

I think new glass is the only solution then. Hopefully you can get it via warranty. I think you’ll be stuck replacing the entire mirror assembly.

For any wondering, the service department hadn't seen the issue before, but agreed it was weird - ordered new sunshades for me that will be in soon. Obviously covered under warranty.
