This afternoon I went to pick up my brand new '21 Telluride EX AWD. This was a pre-order that I had waited two months for - I know, not a whole lot of time compared to others and I'm lucky for that. Anyways while at the dealer for the pick up, the salesman started to go over the features of the car, we logged onto the uvo app from our phones and he was prepared to show us how that worked. We asked how the remote start works and he attempted to demonstrate it for us, however the car wouldn't start! He then looked under the hood, then tried starting it from the push start / inside the vehicle and was able to start it up about two times until it wouldn't turn on again no matter how many attempts. When it would fail to start, which was the majority of tries, we would hear several loud clicks coming from the engine compartment. Service dept was closed. So off we went back home but without our new vehicle. I'm very disappointed and put a very large amount of cash down. They are going to bring it to service on Monday to see what's wrong. Obviously if there is a major issue with the vehicle and we cannot get it or it will take an extended amount of time to fix, then I will get my money back but it's concerning that there is already an issue with it right off the bat. You'd think they would have tested it when it arrived at the dealership for pre-delivery inspection to make sure it would at least turn on!
So that's my story. I'm wondering has anyone experience anything like this? Do you think it's a faulty battery or something else? Any advice would be appreciated. This is my first Kia so I have no history with this manufacturer but so far we're not off to a good start. I just hope it will be a simple fix that will not take long and that I won't have any future issues with the car.
