This was just released and is effective immediately on 2020 KIA Telluride. Also...$75 has been added to destination.

Doesn't seem too drastic IMO.

😡 is it typical to increase MSRP on model year that has been already released? I always thought MSRP impacts new next year year models!!

They changed it mid stream. The Mother Ship does what the Mother Ship wants.

Must be nice!! I am willing to be 2021 models will see much larger increase!

Doubt any increase would be significant; they would out-price the market segment they're working to capture.

Jason, could you please clarify how this impacts Costco pricing and orders already in the pipeline?

How does Kia handle “in process” orders? Other vehicles I’ve ordered in the past have had price increases mid-year, but it basically didn’t affect anything that had been placed up until that point. Does Kia make the change on new orders only, or is anything that’s not yet built affected? Just curious.

To be determined. We haven't been told if all vehicles will be changed or those just going forward. As in will they send fresh window stickers for Tellurides currently on lots? We have no clue. I'm sure we will know more next week.

I'd say if it did not have a vin or window sticker that vehicle gets the new pricing. Only makes sense because KIA probably does not want to miss out on the thousands of orders they currently have. Nothing official yet so stay tuned.

Most of my past ordering experience has been with Ford. Between the time I ordered and when my truck was built, the cost of a couple options increased. I got those options at the lower price, which was effective when I placed my order. Just as an example of what another automaker has done.

I would tend to agree with you. Thanks for letting us know!

We've seen new window stickers show up in years past. Could be lower or higher. We have zero say. We use to have a VW store. When the current Tiguan launched it was over priced. VW recognized that and cut the price big time. Sent us out new window stickers for all units. Things like this happen more times than the average consumer knows about. You just deal with it and move on.

Frankly I’d expect Kia and or the dealership to be decent and honor existing prices on ordered units. I can’t help it that I ordered a car 12 weeks ago and then you decided to change the pricing.

My calculations tell me my acquisition cost just went up 1.4% for just the vehicle (did not analyze against taxes and fixed fees which will change the percentage of the “total transaction” cost)

I have an agreed upon price written in my order sheet at the time of deposit, that is the price I expect at pickup. Otherwise I could have just bought one at the time and paid $2k over MSRP and not been a whole lot different other than not the color I orig. wanted. I also imagine all the incentives will be lower as well which I kind of expected (looks like lease cash is now $2k through 3/3/20 vs. I thought $2.5k last week). However, if you can't get your $hit in order to deliver upon said vehicles in a reasonable amount of time and then dicker the price up on them, consumers will go elsewhere and never come back.

Appreciate what Jason and many others are bringing to the group, will just have to see how this plays out.

I’m really f*#%*?g annoyed that the price has gone up, regardless of how little or much. I ordered this damn thing four months ago. What makes them think they can charge more when they can’t get their shit together and deliver cars on time! I mean WTF, honestly.

They can do whatever they want unfortunately. Not much we can do about it. They have things together....keep in mind it's the Hottest SUV on the Planet and everyone wants one. They could have easily said "Sold Out" for 2020 but they increased production. It takes quite a bit to produce a vehicle and also have all of your suppliers step up as well. If you are unhappy with KIA you have the option to always cancel the order.

This was only a fraction of the update. It effected several vehicles not just the Telluride. Rio, Forte, Optima, Sedona, Sportage, Sorento and Telluride increased.

Kia increased all these models so it is not just the Telluride. It is a increase across the board with Kia.
