I tried to get a sense on how quickly KIA is responding to demand through increased production. Looking at their daily output is very disappointing. I looked through how many cars were being produced and sent to MN dealers and find that just 1 or 2 are produced on average for MN per day. If all other states have similar demand and your order is tenth inline at one of the 14 or so dealers in MN odds of you receiving your T this year seem unlikely.
Does KIA prioritize customer or dealer stock orders? Im sure every dealer is taking every T they can get! They must get some T’s that are not customer orders which must increase the wait time for those of us who have already chose to buy. So the dealers who charge more than MSRP will still continue to do so because they will still receive their allotted amount of T’s Before your order gets built.
Will KIA stifle demand by raising the price considerably? Time will tell. Dealers take deposit money with no reasonable answer for the customer on delivery. They use your money indefinitely. This just makes KIA look bad to me. How do you know your order will be placed ahead of an order for stock? Lots of questions that have no answers. There is an old saying “A fool and his money are soon parted”. Are we fools?
There seems to be plenty of Pallisides readily available in my area. Why? KIA and Hyundai are the same company so why not have some sister company help? Sure the sheet metal and interiors are different but the frame and running gear are the same. There should be some way for Hyundai to help with T demand.
I‘m considering canceling my order because I don’t need to be played for a fool in a car deal. There’s other good vehicles out there.
