Telluride suddenly slows down

I just bought my 2023 Telluride and 4 different times in the passing lane and no vehicles in front of me and suddenly my car slows down all of a sudden.
I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? This is my third Telluride and my other two didn't do this.

Seems odd - perhaps the sensors need calibration. I've had my 2023 for a month now and haven't experienced this.

Are you talking about slowing down with smart cruise control on? What is your cruise speed set to when it happens and what does it drop down to? If you set your speed to the posted speed limit, HDA will automatically adjust it if the area you are driving through is slower/faster limits. HDA works on loaded maps in the UVO head unit, so updated map files may be different from your previous model years.

Also the 2023 has a newer feature, Intelligent speed limit assist, where it can also read speed limit signs with the front camera and might be adjusting your speed based off that.

If I'm not mistaken, I think there was also a feature where it would slow you down if you were going into a curve. My '22 model would do the same thing with HDA and/or SCC on. There was an option I had to turn off in the dash menu to stop this from happening. It would reduce speed drastically that IMO was an accident waiting to happen when traveling and having people behind you, especially those that travel too close to you.

Also keep in mind there is a speed limit assist function. Make sure that is turned to just alert and not active.

IF it is active, you can set the car to speed up or slow down if you are going over/under the speed limit by a certain amount of mph

Settings button then Vehicle button to get to this menu

Just checking are you talking about setting SCC at the HDA speed limit (where it auto-adjust the speed for you when the speed limit on the highway (or any road supported) changes, say from 55 to 65)? Then you can tell it, +/- X mph from that?

What I'm getting at is I typically drive 5-9 mph over the speed limit on the highway, but I have not been able to find supposedly the setting that allows this. Wondering if you can provide pics, if you can.

In my '22 owners manual it is Highway Auto Curve Slowdown (page 5-108) "If vehicle speed is high, Highway Auto Curve Slowdown function will temporarily decelerate your vehicle to help you drive safely on a curve, based on the curve information from the navigation."

Yes.
Twice now, in two months/2000 miles, SCC in my 2023 Telluride has turned off on its own, in a stretch of highway with no one anywhere near me. My foot was not near the brake -- I did not bump the brake. The car was going up a mild grade, slowed by itself from 76 to 65 (no one anywhere close behind me), then turned back on without my touching anything -- accelerated back to 76 mph and stayed on the rest of highway portion of my trip. The deceleration felt smooth but fast enough that I think it was braking. The acceleration felt to me to be the usual rate. I was not on a curve either time, and I did not have the Smart Speed Limit feature activated nor did the speed limit change along that stretch of highway. I was driving in Smart Mode.

I asked my dealer's service department if they knew of this behavior and they said no, and that it was no use reporting it to Kia who wouldn't pay any attention until it was verified by a service department, so I should bring it in so they could test drive it. Right -- the glitch has happened once per thousand miles and they are going to evaluate it on a test drive???

So does Kia know about this? What should I do about it? other than be careful?

My wife’s 2023 Telluride has started limiting her speed. Scary when on highway it dropped her to 55 and twice in town dropped her to 20. We’re gonna take it to the shop. She DOES NOT use any cruise control
