Hey, folks. Question for folks that have 2" Truxxx lift kit and/or outfitted their Telluride with 17's.
I purchased the kit, took it to a local 4x4 shop, and they were a bit concerned over the lack of caster/camber adjustment. If I understand correctly, there is a risk that when they do the alignment, the won't have all the typical adjustments available to them to bring it back into proper alignment. They weren't saying it would definitely be an issue; just that it could be an issue.
First, has anyone had any issues getting proper alignment after getting the Truxxx 2" lift installed?
Second, I'm looking to replace the 20's that came with the Telluride with Black Rhino Arches (17x8) and Toyo AT3's (265/65/R17) based on other comments on this thread, inclusive of my need for a capable snow tire in the winter. The shop also indicated I should be cautious of brakes not fitting properly if I'm dropping to 17's, and potentially even resulting in overheating or other issues. If this is a valid concern, I'd prefer to just go with 18's if there's any concerns that 17's will be unsafe in any way... but candidly I just don't know enough to understand or assess the tradeoffs.
My goal is to just get a bit better approach/departure angles, and also ditch the 20's that came with the car with something that is more reasonable for driving on USFS roads when we go camping and hiking.
As always, any thoughts/suggestions appreciated. Thanks!
