• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Thule Cross Bar Installed

Jazzyone, What trim is your Telly? I like the looks of the S trim over the EX because there is less silver colored window trim, but I’m not sure that I’d be able to mount a Thule rack on the S model. Your rack looks way better than the factory Kia ones.

Mine is an EX. Why wouldn't you be able to mount on the Thule? I could be wrong, but I thought the S model came with flush rails. Doesn't yours have it?

EDIT: The S does have flush rails...Only LX does not come with the rails.

I think that is correct. The LX does not have roof rails therefore no standard crossbars, you have to buy aftermarket flush mount roof crossbars. The roof rails on the S, EX and SX are identical in size and shape but the finish is slightly different. All crossbars for any one of those three trims should be compatible.

Thanks for the information. I’ve been trying to sort out all the differences between the EX and the S before we order, and when I looked at a couple side by side yesterday it looked like the S didn’t have the roof rails, but I didn’t take exact note until I got home and thought about it. There are definitely some differences in the aesthetic trims between the two levels. I find the EX to have larger more prominent silver trim around the windows and roof rails.

Now that you can order the captains chairs on the EX it certainly makes a difference for the number of potential buyers. I did not consider the EX because I wanted 7 passenger. But I might have picked it over my S at the time. The roof rails not on the LX were a nonstarter for me.

Did my install yesterday with Thule 53" Wingbar EVO system (wing bars, 460R rapid podium and #4113 fit kit). Found some great deals on eBay for the EVO bars and the 460R podium, but no deal to be found on the #4113 kit which I sourced off of Amazon and got free shipping and no tax. All in the entire system was $400 (including tax and shipping) versus $560 on the Thule site (before tax and shipping).

Today I installed the Aeroblade edge cross bars. I unfortunately had remembered incorrectly which size I had bought for my previous car. So my comment above is wrong: the 7603 bars will fit well. Anyways, distance from the top of the roof to top of the bars ends up maxing out at just under 3.5 inches9BFFAA67-8F21-40BB-9A1C-F86FD1E8DDCE.webp

I saved about $100 vs Thule going through resellers. While the other parts are somewhat universal, the fit kit 4113 is obviously vehicle specific. I don’t think those will be available at a discount for a while.

Nice! That looks shorter than the OEM crossbars.

I got confused cause the other user "G-188957" said he needed 2 different sizes with 7603 and 7604.
But yours fits well now.
My assumption is it can fit even with 7603 in a certain range in the front side.
Can you move forward the front one?

Sorry G-188957 is me, Somehow when I posted it went under that name. 7604 fits in the front but it is pretty tight. I think two 7603 bars would fit best.

@jazzyone Is that Thule 4113 system using claws to clamp the rail, as opposed to permanent hard points?

Is there anything preventing you from installing the bars farther apart (fore and aft)? For me, the Thule Canada site says 27.5" is the maximum bar-spread but I'm not sure why.

Anyways, thanks for the awesome photos and detailed information. Looks great!

Glad you like them. Hopefully they were useful for you!

This Thule system uses a clamp style mount, so it can technically be mounted anywhere along the rail, BUT the cross bar spread determines the load that can be safely carried. Stay within the spread specification of the manufacturer.

Contact the manufacturer for more details on your specific application.

How easy are the Thules to remove if you don’t want it attached year round?

Here are the fully installed pictures. The rear bar looks a little further up, but it is spaced so that a Yakima SkyBox 18 cargo case will clear the hatch when mounted on the cross bar.

Lastly, here is the clearance between the Sunroof and the Bar. It's between 1"-2" clearance.

Excellent pictures and look!!
I just picked up my Moss Green Telluride last Saturday. I'm wondering if the silver Thule Evo Wingbar cross bars would look good??
Also, where did you get your cool babges??
Cheers...

Shouldnt cross bars be functional . Not a "look" thing ? Cross bars negatively impact fuel efficiency , cause wind noise and definitely dont look cool , they are just for carrying shit ...................or did I miss a class ?? ..............designer trailer hitches next ?? Bawaaaaaaa !!

I haven't seen one in Silver, but then again I haven't seen any KT's with aftermarket crossbars on the road. I think Silver will look great too!

I got the badges right here from this site. Sal is a great person to work with and I recommend him highly! Shop - Kia Telluride Store

Who says? Designer trailer hitches? We'll I kinda got that too.....Stealth Hitch, I can remove the hitch or put it on if want to look more utilitarian.
