  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have a quick question to get a better understand of Failcat. I purchased a Telluride that is suppose to be coming this month to the dealer. The dealer already had the VIN number. The vin number appeared on failcat on December 1st. So what does that mean? Does that mean the Telluride has been built and on the way to the dealer? Or does it mean they are actually starting to build my Telluride. I am just trying to figure out the timing. Does anyone know know the timing of when the VIN is on Failcat to when it is actually delivered?

Thank you,

Nic

The VIN is created when the vehicle goes into paint. It should be competed a couple of days after that and then it goes through inspection. Time to delivery has so many factors that the question cannot be answered. The biggest is the mode of transportation from the factory to the dealership.

Check out the order to delivery time. Is usually 2 to 4 weeks between failcat and delivery

That is very optimistic. 4 weeks seems close to the average, but quite a few people wait more than six weeks after Failcat. Two weeks is pretty much best case scenario.
