However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Track my vehicle

Let’s ask @StephenCantrelle a different question:

Have dealerships received or have you heard through the grapevine any news on when hail damaged cars will start being delivered?

No news is bad news. Surely, someone in Kia has a rough schedule by now.

Thanks

I can provide some intel here (I’m a consumer)

I was at Jim Ellis Kia in Kennesaw GA last weekend to get my deposit back on a hail damaged car. I saw a sorrento there and overhead the salesman with a client say it was in the hail storm and there was a credit available for the buyer.

He said it was off the truck that day (this last Saturday)

I have 22 affected as a store... 2 of them have been fixed and given updated ETA's.... so there finally seems to be some updated ones. One is a K5 and the other is a Sportage. I'm in Texas and the ones updated have 05-09 and 05-11 new incoming dates to give an idea. Which means they are just waiting to get loaded on a truck

@StephenCantrelle Any Update on 5XYP3DGC2PG387197?

Thanks in advance. Might be looking to cancel if still delayed a bunch due to other vehicle issues.
Stay patient! It'll be worth it in the long haul. Cliff Notes of our story...

10/15/22 - Custom Ordered
2/1/23 - VIN assigned (per Failcat)
2/6/23 - Vehicle Ported
2/10/23 - Vehicle arrived to dealership...
Received call at 1pm on 2/10 that Bluetooth connectivity was not functioning and that OBD2 port would not work to help pull error codes.
KIA America requested that vehicle be returned.
Was told by dealership we would have a vehicle by end of February.
2/25/23 - VIN assigned (per Failcat)
Dealership told us delivery on 3/10/23
Arrive to dealership on 3/10/23 to find out there is no vehicle and after much pressuring turns out the vehicle actually arrived 2/20 but was accidently sold to someone else because the vehicle was not assigned to us by the salesman.
*Tense negotiating occurs*
4/12/23 - New date without a VIN
5/22/23 - Updated date without a VIN
5/10/23 - Expected delivery with VIN number
Caveat however is that this vehicle is an X-Pro and not an X-Line like we ordered (negotiating to pay the price of X-Line..)

We've had three "once in a blue moon" situations occur. I'm really to play the anti-lottery!
When issues occur, remember that price is always negotiable. They would rather refund you the deposit (car will still come for them to sell above MSRP); but it resets your clock and negotiating power.

wow thats quite an ordeal. At least you know by now that it is a great vehicle. Sorry you have had to deal with all of that.

Do you see an update yet? Still being told 5/12 but trying not to get excited lol.
Still showing 12/31 stamp on my end as of today

New member and soon to be first time owner. Can you check 5XYP5DGC5PG386667. Great forum. I look forward to deep diving and contributing.

Amazingly, not a request for Stephen to check status. I called Kia customer service at 800-333-4542 on April 13 to create a case with the goal of getting better information on my storm damaged ’ride. I called back today (April 21) and received the following in email to confirm the call notes:
*********************
As of right now, notes are indicating that the vehicle is in "Port stock allocation" status. Which means, the vehicle came in on a shipment from the supplier and it's being picked up the ship to the dealership. I would estimate the vehicle being delivered to the dealership within 1-2 weeks from today.

Sincerely,

Kia America

Dealership said still showing 12/31.

I‘ll post an update once something real happens.

Peace and patience.
Update:
In another twist, I am picking up my new Telly tomorrow. It has the exact options I ordered and from the same dealer. Except it’s not the original, hail damaged one. The person who ordered backed out and my sales guy was paying attention.

Good luck to those still stuck in hail limbo!

Hi Stephen; can you please check on this then? It's one of the hail damaged vehicles.

This also is still showing 12/31 stamp as of today... If new here this just means it got affected by the hailstorm. Once fixed ETA will update to accurate ETA.

Thank you much. The dealer I'm working with doesn't have the best track record when it comes to communication. If I don't hear from them in a few weeks, I'll check back.

Love it. I ended up ordering one as well but there are two coming before with the same specs, so maybe I am lucky too :)

Enjoy the car!

@StephenCantrelle - any perspectives on average time from ordering to car arriving at the dealership these days? Dealer said it’s <5 weeks but they may just be making it up…
Mine told me 30 to 120 days. Going on week 7 I think now, I live about 45 minutes for West Point where most are made.

Hey Stephen, mine was one of the ones being assessed for damages but I guess I’ll give it a shot since I haven’t checked in a while.
