Trolling FailCat, is there a way to tell if a car is special ordered?

While waiting the 3-4 months for my order, I figured I might periodically troll FailCat to see if any of the several dozen dealers within an hour or two of my home are getting any that match so I can grab one sooner.

Is there any way to tell if a car is special ordered without just contacting the dealer?

Also, at what point does something pop up on FailCat vs when does it arrive at the dealer (generally speaking)? In other words, is it worth contacting the dealer as soon as I see one pop up on FailCat, or should I wait?

1. I don’t think special orders are listed differently.
2. As soon as a vehicle shows that you want; contact the dealer

The answers you will get will be very broad. Depends on shipping - i.e. truck or rail, how far they are from the factory, etc. Probably the shortest will be 2 weeks and could be up to 4-5 weeks. Half the time the person you talk to at the dealer won't know what is arriving.

The VIN window sticker links from Failcat are showing a different interior color than the Failcat site. I've found at least four instances of what the Failcat site says is "Gravity Gray / Dune Brown" but when I open the VIN window sticker link it says the interior is Black. EDIT: I've tried a bunch more, looks like every single GG/Dune interior shows as "Black" interior on the window sticker.

I'm assuming the window sticker is the correct one; if that's the case, how can I notify the Failcat site runner that there's a problem with the data scraping?

Look under the Additional Installed Equipment under SX Prestige Package. It will be listed as Dune

I gotcha, thanks...I was only looking under the interior color on the top left. I guess since only the seats are Dune they still list the interior as Black...weird. Thank you.

Correct me if I am wrong on this, but isn't the rest of the interior package unchanged? I think it is black w the added Dune leather package. I am new here so don't hold me to this. Just seems like that is what I have been seeing.
