• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Truck snapped my passenger mirror off while pulling forward in a parking lot. Then, he took off before anyone could get his license #. Body mount is fine and except for a couple of scratches, the mirror housing & mirror are intact as well. Internal center swivel mount is broken but all electronics work. I've got tape holding it together so far. Anyone have ideas what it will cost to fix?

Appreciate any info or ideas.

Did you check if there are cameras in the parking lot that might have captured the incident? If you submit an insurance claim, at least you’d have some evidence you were not at fault. Still the deductible would be a pain.

Looks like an entire assembly is needed to get the internal mount, about $500.00.
Based on your deductible you may not want to turn it in to insurance.

You may be able to source a junk yard mirror (any color) and swap your good plastic parts to the one you get to avoid the need for painting.

I can maybe get a look at video on Monday but camera isn't in a prime place. I purposely don't park close to the stores. Insurance deductible is $1k... probably not worth the effort.

Thank you, I appreciate the suggestions.

Just as an update... Dealer 'partner' wanted $1,300 parts & installation.

I bought the part from another dealer for $688 and had it installed for $150 by local car repair shop. The swapped out the black cover that came with it with my original cover that was fine.
