Here is the response from this morning when i asked about darren and the extension:Darren from Truxx must not have communicated the latest news to his staff. I have a text response from him from April 21 acknowledging that he is working on the strut extension. If I were you, I would hold off (I'm assuming you have the self levelling shocks).
What are your wheels specs? The 2” lift was a Huge upgrade for my Telluride. And the 265’s with Black Rhinos look too good..

Just wondering if anymore has been heard about this extension truxxx was looking at possibly making; and/or any additional info on this possible problem? Want to pull the trigger in the lift, but just nervous to do on a brand new vehicle some people have had trouble with. Whats the consensus? Problem mostly just install error?Darren from Truxx must not have communicated the latest news to his staff. I went to a local very well-known four-wheel-drive shop and they’re telling me that All the lifts they’ve done with vehicles with the automatic leveling system they got longer sensors from the leveling system company and at this time they don’t make a sensor extension for the telluride but they’re saying that is the only correct way to do it adding extensions to struts and stuff is not a good idea just thought I’d pass this information alongJust wondering if anymore has been heard about this extension truxxx was looking at possibly making; and/or any additional info on this possible problem? Yeah, i dont know much so i have no clue, but the reason i am holding off so far. Especially of truxxx is looking at fabricating an extension. Leads me to believe me even they think one might be needed. But i know a few have said they have had no problems, yet. Worried long term and that perm extension of the shocksI went to a local very well-known four-wheel-drive shop and they’re telling me that All the lifts they’ve done with vehicles with the automatic leveling system they got longer sensors from the leveling system company and at this time they don’t make a sensor extension for the telluride but they’re saying that is the only correct way to do it adding extensions to struts and stuff is not a good idea just thought I’d pass this information along
Not sure if they are talking about the same thing. Automatic leveling systems on air suspensions have a level and air compressor and they adjust the height automatically based on what the leveling ride height sensor arm says by adding or removing air pressure to the air suspension. The extension they are talking about is a longer arm to the leveling sensor. This is not what the Telluride self leveling shocks do. The self leveling shocks have fluid in the shocks/strut and they activate their leveling with motion. As the suspension bounces it mechanically pumps it up to try to get closer to normal height while driving. When you stop it sags back down and the shocks rest. There are no sensors. Adding extensions to the Mando self leveling shocks/struts the same height as the lift might be the answer but there are no sensor arms to extend. I could be wrong, but this is how I think it works.I went to a local very well-known four-wheel-drive shop and they’re telling me that All the lifts they’ve done with vehicles with the automatic leveling system they got longer sensors from the leveling system company and at this time they don’t make a sensor extension for the telluride but they’re saying that is the only correct way to do it adding extensions to struts and stuff is not a good idea just thought I’d pass this information along
Borla:Received my Telluride, loving it so far. I installed the K&N CAI system, love the sound at WOT. The Borla exhaust just arrived today and is an easy bolt on. Used the same rims but swapped the tires to a set of 245/60r20 Toyo Open Country AT3. Also installed the Truxxx lift yesterday, love the stance and everything about the ride so far.
That said, there is definitely an issue with the Truxxx lift and the self-leveling suspension. I appreciate the fact that Truxxx has been the first and only manufacturer to provide us with a lift option, but they are definitely lacking when it comes to the Nivomat system. Nivomat components are designed to work at a certain opperating height in conjunction with the spring, as they are not coil overs. By adding approximately 1 3/4 inches to the spring height, nothing is done to address the new height of the Nivomat shock. I am going to have to figure out a way to fabricate a shock extender to address the additional height that is now required. Hopefully I can come up with something this week but it may take longer. The washers they suggest could help are not the answer, nor is the simple 'disconnect the battery' line sufficient. I did this step, but it still ignores the fact that the Nivomat is now almost 2 inches longer than it should be during normal ride height.
Here when i got the notification of a response to this thread, i was hoping it was an update to the thread topic….nope. LolBorla:
nice!
Hasnt been any real update in it. Im confused by it all and while i want to do it, dont want to take the chance of messing up a brand new vehicle. So probably going to just forget it for a while. Maybe some other options will cone out. In going to re-read this thread and some others just to try to understand it all better. Was hoping there would have been more updates and/or responses from the truxxx lead about the possible new brackets or something.Hey Guys... not sure if this thread is closed but from what I understand... if you do NOT disconnect the battery the self leveling computer will not be able to understand what's going on with the new ride height.??? That's what I read in their very detailed instructions. They also said some installers don't install the sway bar links that are included and that could cause some issues.
I did the install myself. Did disconnect the battery and installed the links. Been driving like that for about 2k miles and the car still sitting leveled. The only problem I just found when I did my oil change is there grease at the front passenger side. I think it's coming from the drive arm (forgot what the proper name is). Has anyone notice this?Hey Guys... not sure if this thread is closed but from what I understand... if you do NOT disconnect the battery the self leveling computer will not be able to understand what's going on with the new ride height.???
