Want an EX without the 8 seats? Maybe somebody is willing to trade...

Definitely, I’m one of the ones on that list. I could buy the EX and give the second row seats for captain chairs. I’m in Miami, Fl.

This assumes a captain chair model has the bolt holes needed to mount 3 seats and vice versa, unless you create them yourself lol

Isn't all of this stuff normally built into the cars to begin with? I mean the bolt holes are probably already there and the mounting location for the seat belt is already there but the hardware isn't because it wasn't an option. Or is every Telluride built differently?

From KIAs website it looks as if things are as follows:
LX: 8 passenger
S: 7 or 8 passenger
EX: 8 passenger
SX: 7 passenger

Are we sure this is even possible. When I buy, unless I go with Palisade, I would love to do this. I like everything in SX but captain chairs. But this would have to be performed by dealer I would not want to compromise safety.

But then I don’t think anyone would give their captain chairs because they’re more value, don’t they come with heated and ventilated options and bench doesn’t.

My dealer said we’re stuck with the captain’s chairs on the model we would order but my wife thinks they’re too chintzy looking and would prefer the bench style as in my Sorento. Groan.

Otherwise, it’s a deal breaker for us. My wife will just move on (towards Germany or Japan).

The Bench seats aren’t heated or cooled? My Sorento bench seats are at least heated.

8 seats might be a deal breaker for us too. Time will tell. Please KIA make it option,if you can put in hitch and lights that doesn't work just switch some seats around!

Unless it’s a non-prestige SX and EX with the same leather color or an S and LX swapping this sounds like 100% more trouble than buying the trim with the configuration you want. Unless having mismatched seats and unused bolt holes on the floor of your brand new car is something you’re interested in.

I agree with this. Really like to have a central armrest with built in cup holders, just like our Sorento SX. . Frustrating that they don't offer this on the Telluride SX model.

Jim , my week old EX has heated bench bench!, I prefer the Captain chairs myself!
