If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I'm 99% sure this was a line, but figured i should check here in case.

Was speaking with a dealership here in the Bay Area about ordering a SX-P NF at MSRP. They said they can't because "The Factory in Korea closed on Thursday due to a COVID outbreak". A quick google search yielded nothing, and obviously sounds like a tactic for me to instead pay the markup on the one they have on the lot.

Is there any validity to this statement at all?

Obviously if not, I will not be putting my order through this dealership.

Telluride is made in America, not Korea. It’s strange that the dealer’s employees don’t know about it.

Run from this dealer.

They said the factory that makes the parts closed. The parts are then sent to Georgia.

There should be enough parts supply in Georgia plant to bang out a few more cars before prices would be affected. Run far, far away from this dealer. They are lying to you!

May we ask which dealership?

Country of origin on the window stickers in the US list South Korea for the Engine and USA for Transmission. I think uncrating and final assembly are different from manufacturing.

I haven’t seen any COVID related shutdowns and that would surprise me given how well South Korea has done with the pandemic relative to other countries. I have read on more than one occasion about the Kia plant workers union going on strike recently.
