I have not experienced but having the heat on high for an extended period of time or parked in extreme heat should help things off-gas quicker.
Try heating the vehicle with windows up. This should speed up the off-gasI didn't really notice it during my test drive......but on the 45 mile drive home from the dealership....absolutely. The smell is bad enough....but the taste is unnerving! I've had it nearly 2 weeks and it's lessening, but still there. uhg! I try to put the windows down as much as possible to help 'air it out' but also concerned with what I'm breathing in.
Yes! My husband just got this car and EVERYTIME I get in it, I get a weird taste in my mouth and end up nauseous after awhile.I think this is going to be an odd question. We test drove an S model as that was all the dealership had left. Afterwards both husband and I were left with a bad taste in our mouths, quite literally. It was like we'd eaten a bunch of walnuts. It wasn't at all a new car smell and no we didn't lick the car. It went away for both of us within a couple minutes of getting out of the Telluride. I know new plastics, of which this S trim model had a lot, off gas, but if that was what was going on I don't think I could take that for very long. Has anyone else noticed this? We are considering an SX, so there would be less plastic, but I'm sure some would remain and if that was the cause it was really bad.
Leave the heat on high and let vehicle run for a while parked. The heat will speed up the off gassing.Yes! My husband just got this car and EVERYTIME I get in it, I get a weird taste in my mouth and end up nauseous after awhile.I'm hoping it wears off!
We leased a Telluride S when they first came out, so we've had it for about 1-1/2 years.
My wife drives it and has just started complaining about a bad odor in the car that won't go away. She's cleaned out the vehicle, and vacuumed, but the odor is still there.
She describes it more as a bad fish odor.
I remembered hearing about the issue with the Palisade, but hadn't heard about the issue in Tellurides as well, until now.
Will be taking it to a dealership for an oil change soon, and will raise the question while there.
I changed the cabin filter about a month ago, genuine OEM filterDid you check the cabin air filter area for anything unusual?
