• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What is the point of Android auto?

I'm on the fence about rooting my pixel 2xl because apparently rooting it wipes the phone which means I have to reinstall everything:cautious:
If you haven't wiped your phone in a while, it will be well worth it. You will probably get better performance. I was lazy to root my phone, but I wipe it at least 2x a year. So just wiped it with out a backup. Here's a link for your Pixel 2. Now that I have a something to play with, its worth rooting.

Remove your password and finger print. This should decrypt the phone so you will not lose your data.

Mine is a Verizon phone and everything I'm reading says you can't root the Verizon pixel 2 so I guess I'm out of luck on that.

I have an unlocked version for carriers. But I thought all Pixel phones had the boot loader unlockable. If rooting your phone is not your thing, try this out.

Texts do come in without AA. I haven't used AA much (only to give it a try) and I get texts on my screen, and can choose to have them read to me. I was looking forward to the wireless charger pad and the freedom of not having any wires in my console. I guess I will play around with it more. I may just jump between the two depending upon my needs (AA for navigation). I also get album art through spottily when using bluetooth

You get album art through Spotify over BT? I used to in my old car but now I'm not. Looked through settings and thought maybe I needed to enable something but didn't find anything.

Glad I read this thread. I had kind of been an Android Auto naysayer (or thinker) but now I'm grasping the usefulness. Time to play around with Waze and get all of my nice Spotify Premium features!

Waze saved me a ticket in the Stinger the other day. Alerted me to a cop in a place where there usually isn't one and I usually go about 15 over there. Just love the AA and waze
