• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What other cars did you consider?

expedition, tahoe, palisade, atlas.

my wife didn't like my telly, so i bought her an atlas instead. i do love her car, just not quite as much.

Mazda CX-5. Size wasn’t a big factor. Just wanted a great suv. Telluride and cx5 both #2 in consumer reports in their class. Subaru #1 in both, but no sex appeal. Some big selling cars get very low scores when objectively evaluated. Eye opening.

my wife walked in the subaru dealer, i pointed out the ascent to her and she immediately said nope and walked out. even the salesmen were laughing. lol

I just had a 2019 Toyota Highlander as a rental and boy was I not impressed. The interior and controls were very dated (the car had a 1980's separate digital clock on the dash!) and the car shuttered at with any amount of hard acceleration. The only interesting feature was the separate window opening in the hatch. However, even though it seemed cool at first blush, when I used it, I found the opening to be pretty small and the load floor height to be low, so as to make getting anything in and out of the window opening to be difficult. I walked away knowing that I definitely made the right choice with the Telluride.

Blazer, Explorer, Grande Cherokee, Palisade... All had something that I liked but none were as complete as the Telluride.

Dude could have saved the trip had he shown her pictures online.

Anyone here considered the Uterus made by some flashy italianos?

Pretty much everything in the 3 seat mid-size range. Tellurides space and interior/exterior design won out. Captains chair became important, but we still wanted seating for 7, that really limited the options.

Seriously, almost every mid size, large sized, luxury SUV plus every pickup. I wouldn't spend someone else's money on a VW Atlas. I always visit with the service managers and their recommendation was to run, don't walk away from the Atlas and the Alfas.

She loved the RAM 1500, but it was a tight fit in the garage and another $20,000. She loved the SRT Durango, but couldn't get the seat comfy. She liked the Ascent, but it was nowhere near as refined as the Telly, plus she hates continuously variable transmissions.

It came down to the Telly or the 2019 X5. Couldn't see spending another $25,000 to get the X5 comparably equipped to the SXP, especially when the service manager told us most of them were having computer issues.

Having owned 6 Subaru's my wife likes the Ascent but she feels it's a bit expensive but right now I'm still on the fence about the telluride it goes down to how the dealer interacts with you.. I know them by heart and they have been at the same dealer for over 10 years so.

Well once you get off the fence, don’t let the dealer stop you from getting the vehicle you want, at the price you want.

It came down between the Atlas and Telluride after driving almost everything with 3 rows in this segment. Was 1 signature away from purchasing an Atlas but bailed, even though we got more than $8k off at roughly a 20% discount off MSRP on it.

Still haven't pulled the trigger on the Telluride but now heavily considering the Palisade too.

If you go to the dark side, ummm I mean Palisade, I’d decide quickly, I suspect that these will also quickly become in short supply and the Hyundai dealers will start jacking up the price just like the Kia dealers. Good luck.

We shopped the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda Passport and Honda Pilot. Came very close to buying the Pilot but one night I saw the telluride commercial which I had seen multiple times before and I told the wife let’s go look at one. About a week after that our local dealer just happen to get one in that we liked a white EX model and the rest is history. Very happy with the telluride. I told my wife I’m so glad we didn’t get the Pilot it looks like a glorified van.

Somehow managed to get it and the Tundra in the garage!

Yeah that's what I'm thinking...to see if I can snag one before the frenzy starts. Don't think I can go wrong with either vehicle, they just have their slight differences. Working out a deal where an almost fully optioned out Palisade SEL AWD would be the same cost as a Telluride EX AWD. If I can solidify that deal, I think I would pull the trigger.
