Wrong interior color on SX fully loaded available

I've been hearing a lot of stories like this. They tried to sell you another one that they received, Im pretty sure they get a bigger commission when isn't a custom order. I don't believe a 17 year old at a burger king can get your order right but not a huge car manufacturer.

I would confront the crap out if them and ask for some paperworks with vin's to prove this is the correct order. Write a terrible review about them.

My husband ordered a Telluride SX fully loaded in August and his wont be in until March. He received the paperwork that he ordered it in August and has the VIN number as of this week. I would be doubtful they ordered your Telluride at the end of September as well.

Went to go pickup my Telly this morning and was gray interior instead of dune brown. I'm pissed. Going to have to wait. So if you want a Moss Green ext and gray interior McGrath Kia on Dundee in Palatine Illinois get it. Fully loaded only thing it doesn't have luggage racks.

Would love to know how much they were going to try to charge you....I won’t get a Kia b/c they were going to make me pay extra

They also said I could NOT special order one, they said Kia does NOT do custom orders, they are only allowed to get what Kia makes and they have to search for it from other places and trade with other dealerships to get what they want.

I really wanted one after seeing one in the school drop off line, but I am probably going to buy a used Porsche Macan, I can buy a used certified one for 55k and that’s that they were going to charge me for a fully loaded sx with brown interior, it pisses me off that other are or did buy them at 48k.

I like to stare at them....haha, but I am over them.(telluride I am just waiting to see what come out next now. Haha...that’s not a Kia.

This happened to me as well. Placed an order in Mid march of 2019 for an SXP in Gravity Gray with Black interior and tow package. Paid deposit and began the waiting game. Never heard from dealer on confirmation order was placed, so I called back after a week or so inquiring and was told it had been taken care of. Waited about a month after that, still no communications FROM the dealer. There was a thread here about a document the dealers were supposed to receive when they placed the order, so I asked for that proof.
They sent it back, but had ordered a Gray interior, and I was told that was what we we ordered, despite having done that via email and having the proof on the black. This was about the time that KIA stopped taking orders on the SXP package, so we were told we couldn't place another order.
The dealer did not seem to care at all, so we got our no interest loan deposit back from the dealership and went on with life.
Sad the customer support was not there. I was an educated customer, who has been following the Telluride since December of 2018, and really liked what KIA was bringing to the market. I was ready to pay MSRP for a vehicle, all they needed to do was deliver the product. I completely understand the supply vs demand aspect that is happening, but KIA needs to understand that there is a customer base and loyalty component too. I have never bought a KIA, and could have been 'won' over if they had delivered.
I am glad to see the lengths some of the dealers on this forum are going to. Please take stories like this to KIA and let them know they are cutting off your customer base. I am not a 'emotional' buyer, and have reached the point that if I do get a Telluride, it will be after the hype dies down and the price/delivery becomes more favorable to the consumer.

What do you mean freeze. They weren't producing them. I ordered mine on 9/21 and still nothing. They said once they get the vin it's going to be another 8 weeks. Everything the dealership said would not happen.

My wife got tired of all the bullshit involved in trying to get a Telly SXP and finally bought a new Ford Explorer yesterday.

Kia lost there chance to sell their first car to our family.

Don’t know about some of what is said here, but most Kia dealerships I have dealt with thus far have been far less than stellar. Some even pretty crooked. Tried ordering and SX P in the DC area and they were more interested in selling me the wrong combo for $4-6k over (bought Rollies and BMWs for below so not about to do that!). Finally put a deposit on one with ok options/color from CT, MSRP only to be treated quite poorly after they received the car. Most are advertising what they are receiving before they get them with only goal to get unsuspecting, uneducated “impulse” buyers in the door and advertise different prices than they actually ask for in person... Kia has a solid car on their hands, VERY bad brand experience though. Too bad, had even started considering a Stinger to replace a 5er as daily but now just wanna throw up when I hear someone looking - feels like buying in the 80s all over again.

As someone that sells them, commission is the same whether a customer orders one or happens to purchase one that’s on the lot.
