• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Wrong interior color on SX fully loaded available

They also said I could NOT special order one, they said Kia does NOT do custom orders, they are only allowed to get what Kia makes and they have to search for it from other places and trade with other dealerships to get what they want.
Lol. Completely false. Fake News! Dealers are not trading Tellurides.

Not surprised, McGrath is ridiculous… I tried dealing with them last week on an SXP and they wouldn’t budge off of $10,000 over MSRP… I politely said good luck and hung up! Haha

Went to go pickup my Telly this morning and was gray interior instead of dune brown. I'm pissed. Going to have to wait. So if you want a Moss Green ext and gray interior McGrath Kia on Dundee in Palatine Illinois get it. Fully loaded only thing it doesn't have luggage racks.
Geez, Moss Green? Most lackluster.

Wow! Now I’m nervous. Ordered ours 3 months ago and we have an expected date of 1/29. Still no VIN yet though. Beginning to wonder if it will be here on time.

That's that particular dealer not KIA.
We were told that same thing last August from a Kia dealership. (I live in Florida) Went to another dealership the same day and guess what? they ordered ours with no problem. The other dealer wanted us to settle for what was on the lot because they wanted that sale, so they lied. I waited four months for my car. If I am paying top dollar for a car, I want what I want. Worth the wait and very happy.

Dealers will not trade Tellurides, but they can absolutely be ordered from the manufacturer through a dealer. If you're not in a hurry to buy, you can get exactly what you want

Their way of clearly dealer existing inventory, and jacking up ($) the delivery costs. Supply and demand, fewer cars, or no production= if u really want one pick from the lot and by the way the cost has gone up $$$$.

What? This post makes no sense.

It's mcgrath arlington Kia - they ordered one for me and sold it to someone else when it came in...

Just a bad dealer... stay away from them...
That's what I'm afraid of

Was that the Blacked out package one?

Ha probably the Black Copper one I asked them about a week or 2 back. They still have it apparently. They quoted me a $8k in required add-ons for it and then a couple grand over MSRP for ADM (roughly $10k over). $5500 for an environmental package (but they couldn't explain what it was), and $2500 for interior/exterior protection package. Guessing that covers the cost of the spray painted or vinyl wrapped trim and letters?

I told them that bad boy is going to sit for a long time at that price.

Ironically they are one of the dealers with the highest # of vehicles and high numbers of prestige in the state. I'm guessing they're ordering a crap ton w/ either fake orders and/or inventory allocations so that they can jack the prices up.

That sucks OP... Don't worry, they prob. have yours ready to go for about $10k over MSRP now.

Looks like they have a couple moss/gray SXP's now on their lot. 4 SXP's overall sitting there (white, copper, and 2 moss).

I've been hearing a lot of stories like this. They tried to sell you another one that they received, Im pretty sure they get a bigger commission when isn't a custom order. I don't believe a 17 year old at a burger king can get your order right but not a huge car manufacturer.

I would confront the crap out if them and ask for some paperworks with vin's to prove this is the correct order. Write a terrible review about them.
True. I work for a Kia dealership and we are the only Kia dealer in my area not marking up Telluride orders. So if they get a allocated unit and want to get rid of it they will slap a $2500 addendum on the car and pawn in off on someone. Plus, when you order a Telluride there is a sheet with the order number, specs, etc. You don’t get a Vin until the vehicle is built, but you should at least get a build sheet! So I think they never ordered it they just tried to sell him an already allocated unit.

Of the three dealerships I contacted, one of them told me they weren't allowed to place orders. The same one told me one of their Tellurides they had got from another dealer because there was a markup sticker on it and he said it wasn't theirs.

Don’t know about some of what is said here, but most Kia dealerships I have dealt with thus far have been far less than stellar. Some even pretty crooked. Tried ordering and SX P in the DC area and they were more interested in selling me the wrong combo for $4-6k over (bought Rollies and BMWs for below so not about to do that!). Finally put a deposit on one with ok options/color from CT, MSRP only to be treated quite poorly after they received the car. Most are advertising what they are receiving before they get them with only goal to get unsuspecting, uneducated “impulse” buyers in the door and advertise different prices than they actually ask for in person... Kia has a solid car on their hands, VERY bad brand experience though. Too bad, had even started considering a Stinger to replace a 5er as daily but now just wanna throw up when I hear someone looking - feels like buying in the 80s all over again.
If you're accustomed to buying "Rollies" you're not going to have anywhere near that level of customer service with any KIA dealership.

My husband ordered a Telluride SX fully loaded in August and his wont be in until March. He received the paperwork that he ordered it in August and has the VIN number as of this week. I would be doubtful they ordered your Telluride at the end of September as well.
Damn, what dealership?
