Telluride sx lift and larger tires

255/55/20 seem to be the biggest with minimum rub
 
Finally got a lift. Everything seems level and centered. I'm not noticing any increased roll or change in ride comfort.
Also got a skid plate. The skid plate doesn't give any more coverage than stock. Too bad it's hard to see.

Also got a skid plate. The skid plate doesn't give any more coverage than stock. Too bad it's hard to see.

Online.Just search for part S9F36 AU000. Most of those search returns are the parts dept of a Kia dealership. Mine cost just over $300 from Kia Parts & Accessories Catalog | Kia LA Parts. It took several weeks to get it. I don't know if it was a supply issue or them dropping the ball, but I did have to email them twice.
 
They look great, by the way do you know how wide of a tire we can install on the 20 in rims. Thanks
I wouldn’t go larger than what I have 265/50 20, mine is a real close and I had to take the front mud guards off because they rubbed slightly when turning the wheels. The wheel shop originally recommended using 18” wheels. I wanted to use my Nightfall 20” rims, I’m glad that I did. You may be able to using a bigger spacer (mine is a 1”)but ask your shop, I’m not a pro I just know what I like.

What wheel spacers did you use? I've never used them before but your setup looks really good.

I did the install and I love it. I have mud guards that I installed prior to the tire and lift upgrade that rub a little on the fronts. I like the mud guard look but will remove them soon.
So Dave are you saying you used a 1” spacer behind the wheel or the lift kit came with a 1” spacer? Was wondering if the tire was too wide and needed a spacer

Wheel spacers are used to push the wheel further out from the hub and might help give clearance from the inner components. They are purchased separately from the 2" Truxxx lift most people are using here. Whether or not a wheel spacer will help depends on your wheel's offset. They will increase the negative offset, so they are usually for wheels that have positive or neutral offset.
 
Can any of you that have rubbing confirm what portion your tires are rubbing against? Is it only during full turning lock? Is it rubbing the inner components somewhere or the outside fenders?

Dave has done exactly what I am wanting to do. I have the black out sx with the factory wheels. Was wanting to install the truxxx lift and 255/55r20 ridge grapplers. Was wondering if he used wheel spacers because he needed more clearance on inside with that tire or did he just want the tire to stock out a little. I don’t want any rubbing if possible.

I'm also planning on doing the 2" Truxxx lift with 255/55r20 tires or similar. I think the wheel offset is what is causing most people issues with rubbing, but I can't confirm as I don't have a Telluride in my garage yet. I'm still debating on selling my 20" Nightfall wheels or using them, but I believe all of the 20" OEM Telluride wheels are at +49.5mm offset. A 1.5" wheel spacer will put that offset at +11.4mm. I've got a couple months to figure it all out though lol..
 
Eh, I get flashed even without the lift. It's those LED headlights that everyone thinks I have my highs on. So annoying.



I read in the instructions that if you don't use the rubber coil grommets, you may lose about an inch or so.
Thanks rMartin, I will check the grommets to see if the setup is right.
 
Dave Fingers, any chance you could post a few more pictures of your Telluride from the side and a front end shot to see how flush your wheels are with that spacer? After removing those mud guards do you get any rubbing on full turn lock, forward and reverse?
