I put together a website that scrapes all of the new VIN numbers daily and lets you search/filter them. I started on January 7th, so cars produced before that won't be on the site. I may try and scrape historical data but for now it's just going forward.

Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to try and add to the site or if you have any issues with it.

I want to especially thank MichelW for his help and inspiration based on his very useful spreadsheet.

Anyone having trouble using failcat tonight? Some of the window sticker links are returning with this error message:

That is hosted on Kia's website. Technically you'd be having issues with Kia's website, not failcat.com.

Either they haven't produced any Dune Brown interior color since 7 January, or you aren't pulling enough information from what's out there. It registers as black interior, but is listed under additional equipment as Dune Brown Nappa Leather for the prestige package.

Mine was listed the same way?

Probably the same reason failcat could not scrape new VINs today. Hopefully kia resolves the issue and we continue to get the latest updates. Failcat is like my morning coffee. I check it everyday before starting to work.

I doubt we are going to see any updates until Kia fixes its service. Once the "Bad Request" error is resolved, failcat will start retrieving the new VINs again.

"Bad Request" - you get the same message going through Kia.com, search inventory and then click "Window Sticker." So the issue for sure is on KIA's end. Until then...

Is there a failcat.com for newbies thread that I can learn from (instead of reasking questions someone may have asked 20 pages ago)? I just ordered 1/20 so I'm thinking I'll eventually be able to see my dealership order go in. Then is it the window sticker that shows you progress?

These threads should help you understand better how the process works. They are not comprehensive so you might have to do a search on the forum or ask about specifics to get more info.

Please read though Latest info on ordering through KFOS to understand process in more detail.
In short process stays the same but now all orders in Kdealer(Web DCS) will automatically transfer to KFOS when it is opened.

Small breakdown explanation is Kdealer(Web DCS) is where dealer puts your order for record keeping thoughout the month until KFOS opens up and then they transfer to KFOS.

Making the process a little more streamline and less chance for errors.

NOTE: Don't post on FB. Will confuse more people than will help.. Thanks as always

I am not sure if I understand you question. If you do a dealer lookup and within that dealer you find a VIN with the Color/Model/Options your added, built around 1-2 months before the ETA you got from your dealer, you can go to the VIN lookup thread in this forum, post the VIN and your initials and ask if that VIN is assigned to you. @StephenCantrelle usually lets you know pretty quickly.

You cannot find out if a VIN is assigned to you directly from Failcat if that is what you are asking.

These aren't official tools from Kia. It's a best effort to scrape or calculate VINs based on whatever process they are using. If you have a VIN, is there something missing which you were hoping to see on the spreadsheet?
