I have no idea where I’m at in line. I imagine the order still has not been accepted in the KFOS. They should notify me if it has.Where are you in the Dealers order line?
Has the order been accepted into KFOS? Dealer should tell you this has occurred, with initial ETA.
Once accepted, a VIN is generated by the factory and production started.
Then, looking in Failcat, in your Dealers allocations, you should find your vehicle/build that matches your order.
With VIN contact @StephenCantrelle to confirm order/ETA... VIN, with your initials.
@DarkMossJustin throws down a good explanation of the ordering process.
● A deposit gets you in line to order with that Dealership.
● Then it's a waiting game in (Kdealer) until your dealer gets an allocation (only a certain amount are given by Kia to each dealership every month). [*My add on] *Generally, this occurs every month between 15th & 17th.
● Only then is your actual order picked up by the Kia Forward Ordering System (KFOS).
● Your order now becomes reality, production happens, everything moves a lot faster and Kia will post your VIN and window sticker online, listing everything that was able to be put into your order (Not all options/accessories are available at all times, but you can order most everything else OEM from the Parts department, or go for third-party aftermarket stuff if you want WeatherTech Floorliners HP, Husky Liners, ToughPro, Tux, Smartliners, etc.)
● After the car's built, checked, tested around the test track plus all the usual inspections it then goes out for transport. When it finally comes off the truck at your dealership, you'll then get the call you've been waiting for. Take delivery that day or the next if you don't want car shoppers sniffing around your new ride or accidentally leaning on your quarter panels. Fun stuff if you're patient for that initial wait in line behind possibly many other customers before your order gets in the system.
I highly recommend doing this. The finance guy of KIA wanted to charge us 7.45% interest in the loan, when we told him we have a 2.49% from our CU up to 72 months, then he said he will talk with the GM and came back immediately offering the same rate up to 60 months. Also check every line item they are trying to charge you. They just show you the monthly payment, ask them to go slow and in detail for every line. They were charging things that we didn't ask for or were talked about before like GAP insurance or 2 extra years of extended warranty.Kia financing was offering $500 off MSRP in March (if you finance through Kia). My advice to you is:
Get pre-approved with your favorite bank/CU, share your letter of approval with the dealership, then have them shop no more than 2 other banks in order to ensure the lowest rate for you without getting so many hits rhat your score goes down a few points.
Good luck!
Ask your salesperson where you are in line within the dealer. Mine told me when I placed the order, then she notified me when it was accepted into KFOS.I have no idea where I’m at in line. I imagine the order still has not been accepted in the KFOS. They should notify me if it has.
How do you know it’s 7 weeks out? My salesperson said they have no idea how long it will take (quoted me 2-4 months ~2 months ago) until the order is picked up in Kia’s syst
They have kept me updated on its eta.... see my signature for that info. Also @StephenCantrelle can help you find out that info... see this thread:How do you know it’s 7 weeks out? Also you can search by dealer / specs here: Telluride Lookup to see if your car has been picked up for building. They have kept me updated on its eta.... see my signature for that info. Also @StephenCantrelle can help you find out that info... see this thread:

Yes. That’s why I followed up with the lookup link.Hmm.. but I don’t have a VIN number to share..
And why does it look like so many black interiors were ordered?!Hmm.. but I don’t have a VIN number to share..
Black is standard. And why does it look like so many black interiors were ordered?!
At least that’s my understanding.Black is standard.
I think you are going to be in the 2022 model production year.I will give them a call. My salesman was a younger guy who had only been there about 5 months.
It it takes much longer, maybe production will roll into the 2022 model year.
I wouldn’t mind, just wish I knew either way. I’m guessing there won't be many changes outside the badge rebrand, maybe a new color option, or tech package on lower trim levels. These are only guesses on my part..
Hi! I’m on Long Island, too! Isn’t it crazy that Dealers here are charging up to $10k over MSRP...insanity! I’m traveling to CT to order mine on Monday, but it won’t be in until Summer. Good luck with your trip! Enjoy that awesome ride home!
Congrats! Couldn't agree more about LI ... purchased in Vestal, NY instead ... MSRP and the whole experience was easy. Any idea of where you may be having yours serviced on the Island? Thinking of Smithtown even though it is more of a drive.I‘m taking a one way flight to Buffalo International Airport and going straight to the Kia dealer (10 minutes away) after the sale of my SXPN Telly I will take a 6 hour drive back home. We sure do love our Tellys![]()
Even "as-is" comes with remaining original manufacturer's warranty, so there's still coverage.I just joined. But today me and wifey are taking home a used 2020 Telluride SX(white) non prestige for $44k. Can’t complain as it’s used and it comes as is... but glad we got used, we rarely buy new
