If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

There is a massive shortage of chips required to build the computers for automobiles. Don't be surprised if it takes far longer than your expected 6-8 weeks.

As for those that think they can haggle on the MSRP ... dream on. There is only 3% mark up on Kias. And Tellysl sell instantly. They are the highest demand vehicles on the market.
Our Telly arrived at dealer this morning. Picked up this afternoon. 5/29/21
Paid MSRP minus $500 rebate and another $500 coupon from dealer.
😊 So $1000 under MSRP, plus tax, title, etc.

Hi Zipp. Were these dealer specific coupons/rebates? I’ve got an order in at Classic Kia in Waukegan IL and would love to save a few bucks day of sale.

I think it will depend on what's available when your car comes in. Kia can change these incentives month to month. Currently there's one for financing through Kia but only if you take the higher interest rate.

Hi,
Yes, the $500 dealer coupon was a specific "Valued Customer Voucher" from our previous car purchase from them.
There was also a $500 rebate from Kia, it was an option in financing vs lower interest rate.

Brand new to the forum as I JUST got my Telluride SX prestige/nightfall dark moss green/dune. It is totally loaded with all the bells and whistles. I’ve leased a Tahoe for decades and decades but wanted a step down size-wise... when this little nugget popped up I was on my mission. I found a dealership 1.5 hours away from my house who simply did MSRP with no markups. I did a three year lease and drove it home yesterday. Incredible and I LOVE this color. I always do black on black but felt this color with the nightfall package was stunning. I’m in Florida...

Congratulations! What dealership in Florida did you visit?

Just placed a custom order with Kia in Schaumburg, IL for SX Nightfall with Prestige at MSRP around 49K including destination charges. Was told its 3-4 month turn around.
I also ordered from this dealer Mid-May. I will say that the communication was great until they got my deposit. Since then I've gotten nothing but crickets in return. I was told 3-4 months but I'm expecting 5-7. They have around 40 orders open for 22s and build ~12/mo. Keep me posted if you hear anything different. Just curious if you would share the sales person you were dealing with? If not, I understand. I'm just curious if they're more responsive than mine.

It's not too late to switch to Classic Kia up in Waukegan (assuming your deposit is refundable) John Plewka was great to deal with and very responsive whenever we had a question. Once we had a VIN, his updates of estimated build/ship/arrival dates were very detailed. Might not decrease your wait but at least you'd be kept in the loop. jplewka@classickiaonline.com

I'll explore this. Thanks for the lead!

$39,395.71 out the door for an S. Includes dealer tint charges

I called or visited 3 Kia dealers in the Detroit area. The Tellurides are in very high demand. One dealer, the first one I visited, had 5 listed in on their website. When I got there, they said they didn't have any and that most are sold before they even hit the lot. Not even one I could see or test drive. I had never seen a Telluride up close or driven one.

There were certain things I wanted, such as the an EX or SX, leather trim, the towing package, and a color other than black, white, or silver.
Called a dealer an hour away, and they had only one left. Went on Saturday, took a test drive with my wife, returned to the dealer and bought it.

All of the dealers I talked to said, because of the high demand, that there was a premium charge added. At the dealer I bought it from, we paid $3000 over invoice. We really wanted this car. I had sold my Saturn Outlook at the beginning of Covid due to some mechanical issues and the fact that we only needed one car at the time. I'm retired, and my wife worked from home due to Covid. But now she's returning to the office, so a second car is necessary.

We also considered ordering one. But needed one before an ordered one could be delivered.

We also bought an additional, premium warranty - 10 Years 125,000 mile bumper-to-bumper (transferable, if I sell it).
We generally keep our cars for a long time, so we felt what we paid was worth the investment. And it still cost way less than other comparably equipped SUVs.

We got a '21 Telluride EX, FWD, dark moss with black interior, towing package, and the EX premium package. Out the door, tax, title, fees, and the additional warranty - $49,000.

Again, we feel it was worth it. But I'd be interested to hear about the demand in your area.

FYI. The 10yr /100k powertrain warranty is only for the original buyer. It drops to 5yr/60k miles for the next owner.
Interesting. That's not what we were told by the dealer.

Well, I'm glad you got what you wanted. But it's pretty disappointing dealers are only getting away with this because some people are willing to pay $3k+ over MSRP.

All of the dealers I talked to said, because of the high demand, that there was a premium charge added.
Fancy words that really just mean "we can scalp these right now, so obviously we are going to do that." This is exactly why people do not trust car dealers, and nothing about this situation helps their image at all. These are greats cars, and their value is holding well now, but that "premium charge" everyone is paying right now is not going to hold in the value of these cars 2 years from now once this insanity calms down.

Wondering about expectations for price off msrp—my dealer is now taking orders but will only do it for msrp. Any ideas about negotiating price or expected rebates/incentives? Are other Kia models discounted much?
You're lucky if you find it for MSRP! Most dealers I called, charge way above MSRP, the higher the trim, the higher the increase. Kia is not giving any incentives on the Telluride, even the financing is high compare to other brands. I was just happy to find a dealer willing to charge MSRP. Good luck!

Quite a few people here have recommended Kia of Muncie, Indiana. I finally decided to check them out and was not disappointed. They are totally legit and great to work with. I put my order in yesterday, so now the wait begins.

How long did they quote you? And did the tell you if you were getting a 2022 or 21?

6 months, although I think he said the last one he saw was closer to 4.5, so who knows, really. He sent along a screenshot of the order as he entered - it was 2022 (they all are now). He did mention when you order, it's possible you get matched with a car that has a few extra accessories on it - once I get the final total, I can post that here. If you are willing to wait, I strongly recommend them. So frustrated with my local dealer for insisting they deserve pocketing an extra $2,000 for the 3 minutes it would take just to punch my order into a computer. For that reason, I'm glad to go 6 hours somewhere else.
