Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

I got my SX Prestige NF from Dutchess Kia in NY. 1.5 hour away from NYC where I live but we only had to go there to pick up the car. Chris sent me the info I needed and they charge MSRP which in the tri state area is one of the rare ones to do so. When I called them end of April, they were expecting the exact car I wanted to arrive mid June, so I made a deposit right away. The car came in a little bit early and we picked it up June 8. I had been looking for the SX Prestige in Ebony and black interior since 2019, every time I called a dealer they were sold even before hitting the lot or they were charging over $60,000! Dutchess Kia will also place an order for you, unlike other dealers that I talked to. The process was pretty smooth, except that they don't take large amounts on credit cards, which is weird to me because in Manhattan it's not an issue to use a credit card to buy a car! So, instead we had to finance a small part of the cost, which we plan on paying off within the first 3 months, as it is the minimum of time to have the loan. I know the deanship makes money with financing too so even better for them! Good luck on your research and getting the car you want!
If you financed through KIA, there is no minimum for the length of the loan. You can pay it off right away no matter what the dealer told you.

Would like to give a shout out to Dennis over at Bob King Kia in Winston Salem, NC. Back the 1st week in May he had put on the KIA Telluride Buy-Sell-Trade group on Facebook that he had a few unspoken for Tellurides coming in over the next month @ MSRP with no "market correction" so I reached out to him. He had an EXP Nightfall with tow...basically exactly what I was looking for so I reached out. I was still not sure a deal would happen as I was just waiting for something else to be added, but he gave me numbers over texts and sure enough it was msrp and I was happy with the $ for my 2020 S that I was going to be trading in so I put down a $500 deposit. Finally saw what I thought was mine on failcat towards the end of May and he texted me a vin that matched, I picked it up Monday. Very easy transaction and I was able to get a little bit more for my trade as the market pushed up the value of mine in that month we were waiting.

Is it possible for you remarkable inside guys here to suggest a dealer with a large allocation/mth in the Northern Virginia/ Southern MD region?
I've spent weeks calling dealerships around here, and so far just one of them has recommended placing an order. Some had specifically said that Tellies are 'allocation only' - no factory orders.
This thread has been a revelation. Hopefully, someone who knows can recommend a straight dealership with a decent allocation rate.
Very much appreciated!

WFT is 'failcat'? Link anyone?

failcat.com search for maryland dealers, see how many they are receiving per month and it will give you an idea of their allotment.

Hey Pudge! You are a champ! Many thanks.

You can do the same for Virginia. Also look into Parsons Kia in Winchester. Not as many as allocated as Ourisman, etc. But also none of the DMV dealer BS. Their allocations compare favorably with Virginia dealers outside of DMV. Not sure whether Winchester is outside your acceptable distance from NoVa.

Most in your area are marking them up significantly. I have hear there are a few that do have them without markup. I am ordering mine from a dealer in Pa. The first dealer was no good. Failcat is the website you can see when new Vins are coming out and what options there are and to what dealer. You can see the window stickers on failcat.

Agreed on Parsons. Spoke to Matt Herman earlier this week. He seems a straight arrow.

I got lucky and found one on Failcat coming to Timbrook KIA in Cumberland, MD that had everything I wanted. They had indicated it was a customer order, but the customer had backed out. It was available to me with a deposit. Saw it early May, it came in about 3 weeks after. At MSRP, no BS. Michael Marvin was my salesman.

I also second Parsons in Winchester, VA. No markup. I believe Renn Kirby in Gettysburg, PA, York in York, PA, Buchanan in Westminster, MD and Hertrich in Easton, MD are also no markup dealers.

Just reached out- let's see what happens. I told Sales Rep on phone if they will sell at MSRP I'm on my way

For Massachusetts buyers.
Gervais Kia in Lowell.
Jim Brophy and Bob Fisher were super easy to deal with. Gave me a great number on my trade. Had my model and trim as an incoming in 6 ish weeks. Simple deposit. MSRP pricing.

Don’t waste your time elsewhere. These guys were awesome. By far my best experience with car salesman I’ve had
I am reaching out- do you want me to mention your name?

Sofar the best experience -- Jerry Seiner Kia in South Jordan, Utah (I went through 3 local dealers)
Ivan Santamaria very helpful, attentive and very personable.

Just ordered 2022 Telluride SX-P in Gray Wolf and Dune Brown Interior

I woulnd't waste your time with Renn Kirby, they are low volume and have no clue how the actual ordering process works. They will place an order at MSRP for you, there will just be no way to know how long it will take. We ordered 3/29, were told 8-12 wks and when we cancelled earlier this week there were still "several" orders in front of us but they couldn't tell me how many... York Kia is marking up SX models at least $2k now.

Amazing! Mind if I ask what you paid out the door?

I’m not who you are addressing, but I can vouch for Hendrick Kia in Cary. Ordered SX FWD on 3/20 with $1k refundable deposit at MSRP, was told 16-20 weeks, great communication from the sales person I’ve been working with since then, and just got my vin number yesterday for a 2022 with a tentative 6/19 delivery. So far they have underpromised and over delivered. Can’t say anything negative about them so far. Always super responsive with my questions and very knowledgeable and up front about any info they have. Definitely worth checking out.
Thanks. Pulled the plug today and put my deposit down on a 2022 SX in Sangria @ Hendricks Kia in Cary.
