Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

Hey I am thinking of ordering through there or sussman. How long was your order to delivery?
We put a deposit down 4/28, and picked it up 6/18. Was originally told a 6/21 delivery date. But I think we got lucky because ours is still a 2021, and the new ones will be 2022's I believe, which will impact shipment dates.

Agreed on Parsons. Spoke to Matt Herman earlier this week. He seems a straight arrow.
Let me know if you find anything out! I've been calling around the DMV with no luck. Only one guy (Van Dyke at DARCARS Temple Hills) said they aren't going over MSRP, but hasn't had any stock.

Nationwide KIA in Maryland is selling at MSRP on orders. If there is anything in stock that will be above MSRP.

Awesome, thanks! Anyone in particular I should reach out to?

I-25 Kia in Colorado, I ordered through I-25 kia about a month ago and haven't heard much since. And just wanted some feedback on the experience from people that previously ordered from them. How long did it take from order to Vin? Any gimmicks once you arrived for pickup? This is my first time ordering from out of state so I'm just looking for something to help calm the nerves. Thanks in advance

I have been working with Kayla. Also said, no dealer add ons upon arrival unless requested .
Submitted an order, thanks for the reference. Let me know what you hear about for updates and timelines?

So, they are quoting you only two months to get your car? That would be pretty nice if accurate.

I went ahead with Parsons Kia. Order was placed at MSRP with their sales manager 14 June. Excellent to work with. Order was for an EX AWD PRE TOW in Sangria & black. Not a super popular configuration like a Wolf Gray NE, so I expected it would be quite a long wait before the order was picked up in KFOS. Not so, as it turned out.
Parsons GM called be last Friday. My order was picked up in KFOS, and the ETA is 18 July. That's less than a month from the order on the dealership. It was almost too good to be true. Spoke with the GM again yesterday to confirm that the order had everything asked for. She stopped what she was doing, looked into KFOS, and confirmed that everything was as ordered and the ETA was still 18 July. She said it could be 5 days either way due to transport.

@MisterUtah reported 2 month from order to ETA. That's two of us with very short build & delivery cycles. Is it possible that Georgia is really ramping up the production rate??

I’m glad to hear things are going well for you with Parsons. We also ordered with Parsons, and I have been holding my full report until we pick up. Our car came in more than a week early while we are on vacation so we have a delayed pick up. But they have been super communicative and everyone we have worked with so far was been great. The new car sales manager did the same for us to be sure our car was one of the first 2022s to roll out since we’d been waiting so long. And they definitely knew the ins and outs of the 2022 transition and were on top of it. So they are plugged in on nuances of the Kia process for customers.

They are working to have all paperwork ready so we can be in and out of the dealership quickly to finalize the sale. I will update when all is said and done, but I definitely suggest anyone in DMV or North/Central VA look into them.

That is kind of what I was picking up from my dealer when I placed the order. I ended up going with Sussman because they are so close to me. Only 20 minutes. When I spoke to them on the phone, they quoted 3 months but said they are seeing them sooner.

Greetings! New member here!

Yesterday I bought a '22 SX Prestige Nightfall from Southlake Kia in suburban Chicago. Dear Lord, I truly lucked out. I've been looking for a Telluride for several weeks. The dealerships within a 100 mile radius of my home typically have the Tellis sold before they arrive. But I checked Southlake's website on Fri. night and saw a newly-listed Telluride. So I took the risk and drove 75 miles to the dealership. I arrived at 7 am and saw it there. So I went to have a bit of breakfast and returned at 7:45 am hoping to catch an early-arriving salesperson. I did. Chris Lindzy was truly awesome -- friendly, transparent, and incredibly professional. He had to find out if it had been sold. No! Good news! I knew that all of the dealerships were charging above MSRP so the question was how much. The typical markup in Chicagoland is between 3k-10k. I've bought 30+ vehicles in my life and I'm proud to say that I've never paid anywhere near MSRP until recently. But this seems totally rational to me given the current situation. Supply and demand makes sense. I can always opt not to buy on the spot and perhaps order from someone charging at or below MSRP. So I negotiated and got what I think is a reasonable deal.

I really lucked out. The car had been at the dealership for less than 24h and wasn't spoken for. It's the dealership's first '22 and perhaps one of the first '22s in Chicagoland.

I'll also note that I bought a '21 Palisade Calligraphy earlier this month. So I own both! Although they look similar on paper, the driving experience is quite different. The Telluride is my everyday vehicle and the Pali is mostly for road trips. I paid MSRP for the Pali with no markup. I traded in a '19 X5 and obtained more than I paid for it! So on balance, I think everything worked out great!

Looks great! So how much over did you end up paying?

I got an email from one of the few MSRP dealers around me last night that they got a black copper SX-P available... Not interested in that color but very curious to know what they wanted for it ..

The dealership asked for $7500 over MSRP. That seems to be mid-pack for Chicagoland and not unreasonable for a '22. I had a trade-in which complicates matters a bit, but I think it's fair to say I paid a few thousand less than that.

It's absolutely amazing how hot Tellis are in Chicagoland/northern Indiana. Dealerships are asking (and getting) >$50k for USED SX Prestiges.

Ahhh, your mistake. Black Copper is the rarest gem. Thousands of white, gray, another gray color, yet another gray one, the gray the looks like primer paint and gray-green. 🤣😂🤣😂

Congrats. Could you provide a little more detail on the differences in the driving experiences between the Telluride and the Palisade? Thanks.

It's definitely more interesting than most colors, but it's too close to black for my tastes. I'm done with silver and gray for a while. Would love a nice dark blue or racing green... Closest available is DM, which is also kind of unique.
