Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

So, based on that link, is the below information correct as everyone understands it?

MSRP's by Trim (2021 --> 2022):
LX: $32,190 --> $32,790
S: $34,590 --> $35,290
EX: $37,590 --> $37,790
SX: $42,490 --> $42,690
@StephenCantrelle can you confirm ?

Bought mine from Bucanan Kia of Westminster, MD for MSRP + 1800 of add ons - some ceramic paint protector and interior thing (1000), window etching (600), Nitro in tires (200). After calling a bunch of dealers and finding most charging thousands over MSRP I found the color and options I wanted coming in soon at this dealer and picked it up about 2 weeks later. Overall a decent experience.

Any suggestions if trying to buy one in another state? I am in Maryland and tried to buy one from Outten Kia in PA. I was ready to place the deposit, gave them my address, and they said hang on and then told me the car was already sold. I had my wife call back and the car was indeed still available.
Try Buchanan Kia in Westminster. Only 1800 over MSRP - they make you buy three silly add ons but better than some. The Kia dealer in Gettysburg told me they were selling at MSRP if you can get one.

Nationwide in Timonium is selling at MSRP for orders. Ask for Kayla.

Sussman Kia in Jenkintown, PA. Bought an EX w/o premium/nightfall. Put a $500 deposit down to reserve after using failcat.

No market adjustment. Clean deal at MSRP, normal taxes and fees. No hard sell on extras. Didn't find a single place in NJ doing the same. Very nice people.

I can confirm this is the case, only requirement was a floor mat purchase, also worked with Kayla. Placed order on 6/14. Given an estimate of 3 mos. SX AWD GG/Black

Yes. She said if you don’t want mats you can get a credit for them at time of taking possession of the car. Covers them in case someone doesn’t close the deal. Ordered my SX a week after you. 👍

I purchased a new Telluride (S trim) last month (June, 2021) from Oakes Kia in Kansas City, MO. It was on order for only 6 weeks, and it came much quicker than I expected. I was impressed with the excellent communication from the sales person (thank you Tim) to several of the supervisors (thank you Kevin, Carlos, Chris). Even the manager (thank you Laura) contacted me several times and made sure that I was happy with the service. The dealership presented the numbers fairly and accurately. It was only $2,000 above MSRP. (Now it's more I've been told.) There was little or no pressure to purchase an extended warranty. An excellent trade-in price was offered for my 2019 Honda Insight EX (thank you Carlos). I would highly recommend Oakes Kia for your next new car.

CONGRATS Ronnie. Far as I know you are now the all time record holder for elapsed time from order to delivery. Mine was ordered 14 June and has an ETA of 18 July, but anything could happen between now & then. What date in June did you order?

I put the deposit ($500) down on April 29 (via telephone) and picked up my Telluride S trim on June 18 in Kansas City. That's slightly over 6 weeks I think. :)

I am working with Madeline Macdonald, her email address is MMacdonald.koc@crm.hendrickauto.com. You can tell her Lennon sent you. Good luck! 😎
Did you ever have any problems getting a hold of her by email? I’ve tried emailing her twice this week with no response. I’m sure they’re super busy, especially with holiday weekend. But if I don’t hear something by this evening, I’m just going to call the dealership.

I would just go ahead and give them a call—I think she’s been on vacation recently but another associate followed up with me recently to let me know about my delivery. I’ll post a full write up soon to give them the credit they deserve, but after picking up my Telluride from Hendrick today I can tell you that you can’t go wrong placing an order with them. Process was as seamless as can be, final price was as described (MSRP) with no pressure tactics on add ons, and I drove away with exactly what I wanted, at the price I wanted, with a price match on the same extended warranty offer from Muncie Kia often touted on these forums. Highly recommend.

Awesome! I will definitely call tomorrow then. Thank you so much for your insights! Enjoy your holiday weekend in your new Telly!!! 😁

I ordered mine from here. How long was your wait?

Toronto, Canada - had a great experience with Raj Dey at Scarboro Kia. I would definitely recommend this dealership.

My process was to speak with Sam in February to place the order. She gave me an estimate of 4-6 months, which is longer than it seems many people are quoted right now. She would not give me an exact date and said it really varies based on model ordered. I had to ask for a copy of the order confirmation to be emailed to me - did not seem to be something they normally did. She told me that all their allocations go toward orders. She also said that rarely someone can’t wait and does not want the car they ordered, so she would call if something close came available sooner. I then followed both the Parsons website and failcat and called if I saw something. Once she knew I was “motivated” she would also reach out. Though, there wasn’t anything close enough. Once the MY switchover approached, I called to confirm all was in order and we were in the queue still. Sam was busy, so I was transferred to the new car sales manager when I explained the reason for my call. He quickly found my order in his folder but also said that he had a process lined up to make sure a car that matched my specs was built as one of the first 2022s since I had been waiting since February. He is the one who manages the order process.

To be honest, I have been surprised at those who are getting ETAs within 6-8 weeks of placing orders after I have been waiting this long. I don’t know if the shorter wait is the new normal or a temporary increase. I think the numbers and process may seem “foggy” because dealers don’t actually know their monthly allocation until just before KFOS opens. I had more empathy toward the salespeople and order managers when I understood the process from reading here extensively.

I hope that helps!
Here’s the end of the story. We picked up our Telly today! We were on vacation when our Telluride arrived 8 days early on the evening of 6/20. We drove almost 5 hours home today, took a break for a quick lunch then hopped back in the car to drive 2 hours to Parsons to finalize the sale and pick up our car.

We’d been communicating all week, and they had our car ready for us and all paperwork prepped. There were zero surprises: MSRP + tax + $649 dealer documentation fee. We paid cash, so I can’t speak to their financing department, but everyone we worked with was trustworthy and so nice.

They are a family owned dealership that prides themselves on treating people well. They are trying to get Tellurides as quickly as possible and truly seemed to feel bad that people need to wait for cars.

All to say, it was worth it to buy from a dealer 2 hours away, and I recommend Parsons. The 2 hour drive home in our Telluride was fabulous, and we love our new car!E5A150DF-3536-486E-A703-EE45160498DA.jpeg

Renn Kirby in Gettysburg used to sell at MSRP but that is no longer the case for 22 models. They now have a mark up too, which I consider reasonable in today's world, and was disclosed upfront. Their markup is staggered based on the trim level you choose.
S $1.000
EX $2000
SX $3000
