Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

and set up my ceramic tint, including sunroof. Delivered what seems to be the perfect vehicle!
Question, so they were able to tint your sunroof no problem? I ordered from another location, and when I inquired about including the sunroof in the tinting, they said they were unable to tint because of the angle of the glass. What else came tinted in the mandatory package?

Just picked up our Telluride (2022 SX FWD ES with BS interior) today from Parson's Kia in Winchester, Va and paid sticker. We placed an order with them mid July and after looking at failcat, noticed our exact order was being sent to Parson's. We called hoping it was ours but were told it belonged to someone else. The next day we were told they backed out and the car was ours if we put a deposit down. We did so right away and picked it up today. The salesperson, James, was super helpful and the dealership was like a mom and pop shop, just got down to business and didn't really try to upsell us or anything- we were in and out in under two hours. We got super lucky with the whole thing and ordering an SX FWD instead of an AWD seemed to give us a slight advantage since the AWDs are in such high demand.

We've been drooling over this car for months and were on two other waiting lists. It's hard, but being patient paid off. We were seriously looking into the Palisade since they're so comparable and there are more on the lot (we were even planning on hitting the Hyundai dealership this week), but I'm so happy we waited a bit longer. Now onto obtaining some all weather floor mats and cargo liner...

PS- I can't thank this website enough for the plethora of information and advice. You all rock.

All the windows were included in their “dealer prep” price-you pick the % tint as long as it’s legal. I paid $400 to upgrade to ceramic at darkest legal tint, which DID include the sunroof. There is a special program for the sunroof cut that they had to get from a partner dealership in a nearby city, but it looks good. I have an EX, so only one sunroof-not sure what they’d do with a second.
AND they accidentally tinted my windshield with clear ceramic (so didn’t charge me). Don’t know what that would have cost. Just a week in, and it’s been amazing in the Texas heat!

I was able to buy a 2022 S AWD at MSRP from Seeley Battle Creek MI. Darrick and Alex were both very helpful in the sales department. Darrick kept me updated for months in the winter and spring of 2021 as to what was coming to the dealership. In June the one I was looking for was coming in. I put down a deposit and in the middle of August we picked up it up and drove it home. I would recommend checking out Seeley, they were easy to work with and they had a no pressure sales approach.

Sooo lucky. I ordered with James too around early July (SXP AWD EB/Blk) and still waiting. Cheers to you!

Yeah we got realllly lucky. I didn’t believe my husband when he told me the good news. James was great to work with too. Keep looking at failcat to see if anything matches and follow up with the dealership in case someone backs out. Good luck to you!

Awesome experience at i-25 Kia, Longmont CO, with Carlos Rubio. Saw one of his posts back in June and called i-25 Kia right away to place the order. Carlos was friendly, knowledgeable, and updated me anytime the status or ETA for my Telluride changed. As you can see from my timeline below, I was in touch with him quite a bit. I was never left in the dark or wondering about the status of my vehicle. The Telluride arrived in less than 2 months and approximately 2 months earlier than I was originally quoted. Upon arrival Carlos immediately texted me, sent 8 photos, parked it inside to protect it from a thunderstorm, and kept my keys always locked in his desk until the shipper could pick it up. Finance manager Mikel and Ray got me a good deal on extended warranty and helped me take advantage of $300 rebate. Highly recommend i-25 Kia.

Which warranty did you purchase? Did you need to finance to get the $300 rebate? Did you add any accessories and what did you pay for those?

Let me know what you decide fly and drive or transport. I ordered from i25 and live in the Bay Area as well. Please share details about order and delivery time. Thanks
I ordered an SX from I25 Kia on 11 August. Just curious, do you have a stock number assigned to your order. How long after placing your order did you receive a stock numbe. Thanks

Congrats on your order! My signature block has when I ordered, when they told me my order was accepted by KFOS and the ETA the gave me. I’m not sure what you mean by stock number? Do you mean VIN? I have not been given a VIN yet but from what I’ve seen on the forum it usually isn’t available until 6 weeks before your ETA. Sorry those are the only milestones I know about from the forum. Hopefully someone in the forum can chime in if I got something wrong.

I picked up my Telluride from Chris Lewis at Parsons Kia in Winchester, VA. The entire process from start to finish was as it has been reported to be by others here in the forum - fair and honest. They sell at MSRP, no deposit is required, and No surprise add ons or fees (there is a document processing fee that I’ve gotten with any car I’ve ever bought and I expected it). Very pleasant experience (I know that doesn’t make the wait any easier - but you can manage!!!)!!!
What was the document processing fee just to see another datapoint?

Virginia is unfortunate on having laws to cap these fees. I know ultimately it's driven by the dealership but have seen much lower doc fees in MD & PA.

This was helpful, thank you. The KFOS must be what I'm looking for. Looks like that only took a month after your order. Based on your experience I should have my KFOS in a couple weeks

Glad to hear that helped and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your order!

Didn't know it was legal to tint windshield? Interesting!!!

It’s clear (you can actually get a degree of tint) but more of a solar shield than tint. It certainly make a difference!

Just picked up my 2022 Kia Telluride SX last week! Ordered in early June and was delivered the end of August, the wait was just shy of 3 months. I have the glacier white pearl with butterscotch and black interior! Absolutely LOVE my Tellie!! Traded out of a 2019 Sorento SX and my trade in offer was amazing! Hendrick KIA in Cary, NC with the help of my sales rep Alvin and sales manager Luke was a relaxing and stress free experience, they surpassed my expectations. For those individuals that are still looking for their new Tellie, I bought at MSRP with accessories. I had previously seen so many dealers at 10K to 20K over MSRP. Another amazing thing I discovered is that this dealer services the entire continental USA. At the time my Tellie was delivered, there were other ordered Tellies going to California, Florida, and DC. I heard that the Tellie traveling to California was only an additional transportation charge of $1,500 to travel to its new home and proud owner. I guess my point is my experience was great and when I have those times I want to send that information out to others that could benefit!! It's definitely worth the phone call to check it out before you make your decision on your new 2022 Telluride, especially if your local options are asking above MSRP. I'm so excited to finally get my new Telluride!

Hi- I wanted to write about my great experience with Fairfield Kia in New Hampshire. There aren't a ton of dealers around here that charge MSRP and most of them are 6-10 months wait. I ordered my SX-P on 7/6, showed up on failcat 7/23 and was delivered to the dealership 8/16. MSRP minus veterans discount and $300 discount for using kia's financing. They are 2.5 hours from us and we were planning on picking up but things got busy so they said for $200 they would drive it to us. We did all the paperwork online and they dropped it off the next day. Josh is the sales manager that did the ordering. Super easy and quick.

I was quoted about $200 for the windshield. Whereabouts in Texas are ya? I am in the Houston-Katy area. And, definitely considering having the windshield clear-tinted for heat protection. I have the black dash. Hellishly hot in the sun.

Thanks. I got an EX but I'm jonesing for an SX. Just reached out to them to see about ordering

It's a sad world we're living in, when buyers are happy paying MSRP to dealers! Dealers provide ZERO value in the purchase process. I hope all auto makers adopt Tesla model and all gets shut down. They are all under-educated scum bags. Walk in with the total price you are willing to pay out the door, and walk out if they waste your time "meeting you in the middle". Your time/life is more valuable than wasting at a dealership!!!

FYI I paid $1500 under the MSRP up here in Vancouver, BC, last week. I don't know why folks in the USA are paying way over MSRP. Just remember; they NEED to sell you cars; you do NOT have the same need to buy the car. Ready to Walk or you have no leverage!

That strategy only works when the market is normal. There are still cars being bought every day, and with the supply as tight as it is, the buyer is in the worst position since the beginning of time. It's like walking out of the gas station because gas went up to $4/gal. You can wait until it drops, or you can pay...which will you do? Just because two states over it's still $3.50/gal, your local situation is what it is.

Good for you that in Canada the situation is different, but that has no bearing on what's going on down here.
