Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

Hello - I am new to this forum and haven’t yet purchased a vehicle. I am in Las Vegas NV area and all LV dealerships have market adjustments from $4000 - $9000 over MSRP. No 2022 Costco pricing available yet and highly doubt that will happen anytime soon. I’ve seen a couple of great recommendations on this forum from dealerships in the Denver CO area - any on the “left coast“? WA, OR, CA, ID, UT - thanks in advance!
I also live in Las Vegas and searched the western US for dealer that wasn't price gouching like the greedy Kia dealers here in town. I found the best dealer to be the i25 Kia dealer in Longmount CO. I placed an order with them on 11 August and yesterday received a call telling me my Telluride's ETA is 4 December. They will either ship it to me at a cost or pick me up at the airport to pick it up. They charge MSRP plus 695 handling fee,
(here in Vegas we call that a doc fee). This seems to be the best deal going near Vegas. Keep in mind you are still going to pay Nevada sales tax, there's no avoiding that. A good number for them is 303-532-8500

A lot of members, myself included, from California have ordered fro i25 form all the reasons above. I would point out that they are a high volume dealer so they may even have an inventory order that is a close enough match for you needs. I worded with Carlos Rubio. And he emails me regular updates about my order.

I'd like to give a shout out to Lucas Boehm at Kia of Muncie in Muncie, Ind. I heard about Lucas here and started communicating with him back in January when I couldn't find a dealership in Alabama or Tennessee selling at MSRP. Closest I found was $3K over. Highest was $20,000!! over at Greenway Kia in Franklin, Tenn. (stay away from those guys). Anyway, Lucas quoted me $1,100 below MSRP with my Costco discount for an SX AWD Wolf Gray Nightfall and estimated my wait at 6-8 months. I put down a $500 refundable despot but continued to look around thinking surely I would be able to find something closer to home at MSRP. But all the dealerships in Alabama and surrounding states are charging ADM. Since I didn't have an immediate need for a new car, I decided to wait. Lucas was quick to respond to emails, answered all of my many questions, and kept me updated on my place on the wait list. He emailed me about a month ago that my Telluride had been made and assigned a VIN, and we drove to Muncie 2 Saturdays ago to pick it up. Lucas couldn't have been nicer. The deal was exactly as he had outlined, and it was probably the easiest car buying experience I've ever had. Their finance guy Craig was also excellent. No one tried to up-sell us on any extras that we hadn't agreed to. So we ended up paying $1,100 below MSRP. If you aren't in a rush and want the satisfaction of being one of the few Telluride owners in the country to get your new car below MSRP (with the Costco member discount), I highly recommend Lucas and Kia and Muncie.

Did you get the extended warranty? I got mine through them. I also worked with Craig. He offered the best deal that I could find at the time.

I had called Costco a few weeks ago and they didn't have anything nearby that would do the discount. Was this on a 2021 that they honored on a 2022?

They do it on all Telly's. Still in effect.

No, I didn’t get the extended warranty.

When I placed my order in February, it was still the 2021 model year. But they started producing 2022s in June, I think, so mine is a 2022. It was very easy to get the discount through Kia Of Muncie. All I had to do was bring my Costco card when we went to pick up my Telluride.

Wow. This is very helpful because I pick up my vehicle next week from them. Now I have to rethink about bringing my own financing as backup which means running an extra credit report….

running an extra credit report is not a big deal unless you are buying a new house or refinancing in the next few months. Big deal. Go in with an option to not finance with them and they will back down right away rahter than lose the financing. Then do what i did and pay off the car in 5 months, so Kia gets very little out of you!

When did this happen and for what year Tellie? Thanks.

Your answer is two posts above your post.

Classic KIA in Waukegan, IL! Great experience. Went there after walking away from a bad experience from Schaumburg Bob Rohrman Kia and also a recommendation from this forum. Easy and transparent as it should be. Worked with John Plewka. Ordered ours today. So excited!
I would also highly recommend John at Classic Kia. Reached out to him after seeing his name here and placed an order for a Gravity Grey EX-P Nightfall on 7/12, it was accepted into the system with a VIN on 8/9 and we took delivery on 9/18. He kept in touch every few weeks and provided updates as he got them. The process of finalizing all of the paperwork was incredibly easy - John asked for a number of items to be sent in advance and it made things move quickly. Anyone in northern IL or southern WI should definitely reach out to John for ordering at MSRP.

I want to give a shout out to Lupient Kia in Brooklyn Park, MN where I picked up my EX AWD N/T/P last night.

Their receptionist, Wendy, greeted me with a smile the day I walked in the door unannounced and she was always a pleasure to speak with when I called.

My salesperson, Vadim Lemeshevskiy, was outstanding from the moment I met him in July. He is easy to talk to, very responsive, has a sense of humor, and never did any kind of "hard sell" on anything. We stepped through the options I wanted, placed my order at MSRP, (no "market condition up-charges"), and stayed in regular contact. On the very few occasions I stumped him with a question about the Telluride, he had an answer for me quickly and I never waited longer than a day between leaving a voicemail or email and getting a reply. And he owns a White EX Nightfall, so he's one of us ;)

The Sales Manager, Andrew Goetzke, was just as great on the few times we spoke when Vadim was with another customer.

Mike in Finance made the money portion a breeze and, again, no hard sell. He just presented me with the options available, answered the questions I had, and easily accepted my decisions. (This was a refreshing change from the experience my wife and I had a few weeks earlier at a local Mazda dealership. The Finance person there wouldn't stop trying to upsell us on services while we were leasing her CX 5.) Seriously, if you're about to drop 40k or 50k on a new ride, shouldn't writing the check be the only painful part?

I'd recommend Lupient to anyone looking for a new Kia.

Wanted to give a big shout out to Carlos Rubio at i25 Kia in Colorado. So easy to work with and a great guy for dealing with all my crazy questions. We put in an order for SXP W/Nightfall in GG on 7/6. ETA was 4-5 months. Price was MSRP plus $695 dealer fee and $32 title fee. We also put down a $500 fully refundable deposit.

Carlos kept me updated on status every few weeks. Once the VIN was received and estimated delivery was close we filled out paperwork electronically and hard copies were overnighted for us to sign and return.

The car arrived at the dealer way early on 8/31. Although we didn't pickup until 9/13 as we were coming from California. Carlos setup a Lyft to take us from the airport to the dealership. He spent time going over all the features with us. We didn't even have to step into the dealership.

Paperwork for the DMV actually arrived to our house while we were traveling back. Had everything needed including check made out to DMV for taxes. Got my smog check and went to DMV (DMV didn't ask to see smog paperwork). Possibly because it's sent to them electronically? They also didnt ask for proof of insurance. Gave them packet i25 sent, got inspection, went back to teller and paid fees. Walked out with tags and license plates. Definitely recommend working with i25 and Carlos Rubio. Best experience buying a car ever!

thanks for the recommendation! We're just starting on the search. Realized how much we can get for our 2018 Odyssey, and not sure if I want to go to the WBL Kia Barnett.

You're welcome. I actually called Luther in Bloomington first because it is closer to me. The salesperson I spoke with on the phone seemed disinterested and somewhat dismissive so I ruled them out immediately. Maybe he was having a bad day or something; I dunno as that was my only interaction with them. Regardless, I'm glad it worked out this way. The few extra miles I drove to get to Lupient were well worth it.

I have no experience with Barnett but regardless of who you go with, good luck! And start practicing patience :ROFLMAO:

Congratulations on the new Telly. I have an EX on order with i25 kia and expecting it end of Oct/early Nov.

Few of us in the forum have ordered with i25 and plan to drive back to Cali (Bay area). It would be great if you can shed some light on your trip back - places to stop for overnight stay, how many hours etc.

When did you older your EX from i25. I ordered an SX from i25 on 11 August, on 17 Sept they gave me an ETA of 4 Dec. Just curious how accurate that ETA is

We took the quickest route, up I-25 to I-80. Probably your best bet to avoid the mountain on I-70, at least that's what I was told. Especially during winter. We went from Longmont to Salt Lake City (you pass through Wyoming). It's a 7.5 to 8 hour drive excluding stops. We stayed in Sandy (just outside of Salt Lake City) then went from there to Reno. That's another 7.5 hour drive excluding stops. We stayed in Reno and drove home the next day. So probably another 4 hours from Reno to Bay Area depending on which part you are in.

I will say there was non stop highway construction from CO until you get into CA. A lot of 2 lanes cut down to 1 and lowered speed limit in contruction zones. But the traffic is light through I-80 so it wasn't stop and go at all. Plus it helps that the speed limit was 75 or 80 until you hit CA (and I'm talking even big rigs doing 80+). Hope that helps!
