Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

When did you older your EX from i25. I ordered an SX from i25 on 11 August, on 17 Sept they gave me an ETA of 4 Dec. Just curious how accurate that ETA is
I ordered from i25 about the same time as you and sbay2006. My details are in my signature. I just got an email today that my ETA was push out to 11/17

We took the quickest route, up I-25 to I-80. Probably your best bet to avoid the mountain on I-70, at least that's what I was told. Especially during winter. We went from Longmont to Salt Lake City (you pass through Wyoming). It's a 7.5 to 8 hour drive excluding stops. We stayed in Sandy (just outside of Salt Lake City) then went from there to Reno. That's another 7.5 hour drive excluding stops. We stayed in Reno and drove home the next day. So probably another 4 hours from Reno to Bay Area depending on which part you are in.

I will say there was non stop highway construction from CO until you get into CA. A lot of 2 lanes cut down to 1 and lowered speed limit in contruction zones. But the traffic is light through I-80 so it wasn't stop and go at all. Plus it helps that the speed limit was 75 or 80 until you hit CA (and I'm talking even big rigs doing 80+). Hope that helps!
Thanks a lot for the details!, really appreciate it.

Thanks JRebel. Thats correct, my ETA as of now is early Nov.

I worked with Brandon Paluszak at the apparently famous i25 Kia and had a seamless experience buying our Telluride out of state (UT). My local dealer was requiring me to use a preferred lender with less competitive rates due to it being a “seller’s market” which annoyed me, even though it’s obviously true. Brandon and the i25 team were transparent the entire time, with no surprises anywhere along the way. From the initial order in early June to the pickup this past Saturday (3.75 months start to finish), everything was super straightforward and no pressure.

Would highly recommend these guys if you want to buy a Telluride at MSRP and in a relatively short timeframe.

We also ordered from i25 - and plan to have the car shipped to Bay Area:

Placed order: 6/2
Picked up by KFOS: 7/11 - we were given initial ETA of 11/3

Dominic at i25 sends us a weekly text update with the ETA - it moved up to 10/23, and just last week back out to 10/25.

We did change our build from SX to EX (need that bench seat!) at the end of June - which may have affected the KFOS date.

I understand ETA dates tend to shift around a bit until the VIN is assigned, and it can be found in Failcat. Dominic will text us the VIN as soon as it is assigned, so we can nail down details with the transportation company.

Which warranty did you purchase? Did you need to finance to get the $300 rebate? Did you add any accessories and what did you pay for those?
I got a 10 year 120k bumper to bumper extended warranty from the dealership. It’s through Ally. I financed the minimum of $7k to get the $300 rebate and I’ll refinance with my credit union after 3 months at .99%. I didn’t buy any accessories.

Renn Kirby in Gettysburg PA
$1000 to $3000 over MSRP depending on the model.
4-6 months wait.
No pressure, good finance manager negotiated better rates from local Credit Union than Kia financing.

Yup! Very! LOL! I actually got my Telluride from Huffines, in Corinth. But, their quotes were off the chart. There is a place for tints that I like, here, in Katy. They have good prices, but you cleaned up!
Hi Katy, during your order from Huffines, Corinth were you able to get any intermediate order info like KOrder form, or KFOS form or # of people ahead of you in the queue?

Shout-Out to Preston Kia in Burton, Ohio. They were straight-up from beginning to end of the order process. This is my 4th car from them (the 3 others were from the Ford side of their dealership). They have always been ethical and really look to serve their local community. Highly recommend them to anyone in the Northeast Ohio area.

We’d been eyeing the Hyundai Palisade for a while.

You’re like, wait, this is a forum for Kia Tellurides, why is this guy talking about Hyundai? Stay with me…

We went to a Hyundai dealership and were full-on FOMO’ed (Fear Of Missing Out) into putting down a deposit on a Palisade that didn’t even have a sticker and wouldn’t arrive until almost Halloween.

With an uneasy feeling, we decided to shop around to “reassure ourselves” of the decision, which brought us to Matthews Kia of Greece, NY and Ron Felix.

First off, what a night and day difference in the overall atmosphere and feeling of Matthews compared to the other 1986 vintage dealership. Moreover, Ron was so calm, cool, collected, kind and absolutely NO pressure. He is clearly a Telluride expert. He knows it all. Honestly, he knew all about the Palisade too that he was able to accurately compare and contrast the two.

Within minutes, Ron found us a Kia Telluride which not only would arrive much sooner but also had several features the Palisade did not for the same price. Ron presented all the facts and numbers upfront and transparently. They offered us a fair price for our trade and we knew that day what the bottom line price would be. No hidden fees or add ons.

Our Telluride arrived a full two weeks sooner than estimated. Business manager Zach worked with ESL Federal Credit Union, with whom we have a solid loan and banking history, to land us great financing.

We arrived for our delivery and despite a bevy of paperwork, it was still a very comfortable experience.

Then came the best part… after we finished signing everything and Ron handed us the key fobs, he went outside and spent an hour and a half going over every single feature of our new ride!

A couple of people stopped in and asked for Ron during our time and he respectfully dismissed them so he could give us his full attention during OUR time. That’s the definition of service.

We absolutely are in love with our new Telluride and we have the utmost pleasure in dealing with Matthews Kia and especially Ron Felix.

Pictured: 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited we traded in, 2011 Honda Pilot we will milk until it dies, and our new 2022 Kia Telluride. Ron Felix going through all the features step by step.

First post on the forums to say thank you to all who recommended Helen at Fort Bend Texas Kia. I ordered an EX from her tonight at MSRP with no markups/addendums. Great experience all around. Only downside is the 4 - 6 month wait!

Helen said that they were one of only 4 Kia dealerships nationwide that sell at true MSRP with no other markups/shenanigans. Because of this, their order volume and deliveries is one of the highest in the US.

Congrats… but saying there are only 4 dealers in the US selling at MSRP? That’s a bit of shenanigans right there…

Very true. I've been on this board since July and I can name at least 10 dealers selling at MSRP. I'm sure there are plenty more. But the sales people don't stalk message boards so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I didn't challenge her on it, but did ask if one of them was the dealership in Ft. Worth... she said yes.

In my cursory review of this forum, I have seen many dealerships that sell at MSRP but then require some other admin/document fee or dealer add-ons. I can attest that there was absolutely no pressure to add anything other than what I wanted. I did jokingly ask if I could avoid the destination fee by picking it up at the factory since I will be keeping the Telluride at my house in Georgia anyway, but sadly Kia does not have the factory-direct delivery programs like BMW and M-B!

Just picked up my Telluride last night from Bob Bell Kia in Baltimore. Was told 12-16 weeks at time of order and it took about 13. They quoted MSRP and that is what I paid plus tax, tags and $500 doc fee. No games in finance, didn't try to push extended warranties and got me a great rate 1.87% for 72 months. Overall a great experience, would highly recommend.

It's a sad world we're living in, when buyers are happy paying MSRP to dealers! Dealers provide ZERO value in the purchase process. I hope all auto makers adopt Tesla model and all gets shut down. They are all under-educated scum bags. Walk in with the total price you are willing to pay out the door, and walk out if they waste your time "meeting you in the middle". Your time/life is more valuable than wasting at a dealership!!!

FYI I paid $1500 under the MSRP up here in Vancouver, BC, last week. I don't know why folks in the USA are paying way over MSRP. Just remember; they NEED to sell you cars; you do NOT have the same need to buy the car. Ready to Walk or you have no leverage!
What dealership?

What dealership?
It’s a seller’s market… if you don’t pay their price, there’s a dozen people behind you who will, within days if not hours. They have NO incentive to cater to YOU.

Just like the housing market… 30 offers, all over asking.

The best things Americans can do is shop long and far, don’t settle with the dealership down the street pulling one over on you. Our dealer has people flying in from all over the country to pay MSRP.

I realize that this is a Telluride forum, but wanted to give a shout-out to MY Kia of Salinas, CA. Just purchased a Sorento PHEV this weekend at MSRP, no markups, no dealer add-ons, low pressure and very pleasant to deal with. They are the only dealer within 100 miles of me that isn't adding markups on high demand Kia's (others are marking up the PHEV from a low of about $2200 to a high of $10K, Telluride's are worse). They were also very upfront on not participating in Kia corporate lease programs, where other dealers are advertising those deals and then not honoring them (example - Modesto is advertising a lease special on the PHEV, when I called them they said this is before markup and the actual lease will be over $100/mo more) .

Current stock is super low at Salinas now, but I would consider ordering through them if the wait isn't an issue.
