Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

I was quoted about $200 for the windshield. Whereabouts in Texas are ya? I am in the Houston-Katy area. And, definitely considering having the windshield clear-tinted for heat protection. I have the black dash. Hellishly hot in the sun.
I’m in DFW, so yeah-hot. I don’t know how much they’d have charged in real life, because it wasn’t included in the window/sunroof quote. The tint guy did it accidentally…🤷🏼‍♀️😜

Yup! Very! LOL! I actually got my Telluride from Huffines, in Corinth. But, their quotes were off the chart. There is a place for tints that I like, here, in Katy. They have good prices, but you cleaned up!

thank you all for the great insights. After reaching out for quotes from three locals, Irvine, Huntington Beach and Garden Grove all in OC California, they all wanted $10k over and one indicated Kia was taking no more orders, i reached out to Dominic at I25 and placed an order and put a deposit down with little effort.

I look forward to spending some time in Colorado on the way back with the new Telluride during ski season!

Yes. She said if you don’t want mats you can get a credit for them at time of taking possession of the car. Covers them in case someone doesn’t close the deal. Ordered my SX a week after you. 👍
Not sure where I should post this, good or bad dealer? Let me know your thoughts: I was notified that my Telluride would be available for pickup on 9/7, just under 3 months from ordering (and less than original estimate) and the last day of a Kia loan offer I had discussed with my salesperson. I was presented with the final numbers and they matched the MSRP offer agreed to in June. After running my credit, I was brought into the finance office to complete my loan paperwork and was told that the $1.9% rate I had been discussing with my salesperson "was not available at this dealership" and "most dealerships actually don't honor Kia's rates" and "with the chip shortages and not selling enough cars they have to charge a higher rate". The rate essentially increased the price of the car by ~$1,500 in interest payments. My credit score is 800+. After some additional conversations with the finance guy and my salesperson, I left the dealership with the intention to be back after securing a loan from my credit union. Shortly after, I received a call from my salesperson to return and that the sales manager would honor the advertised rate, which he eventually did, after stressing how much of a favor he was doing for me, over and over and over again.
So in the end I got the car I wanted, at the price I wanted, with the loan terms I wanted. but the experience left a sour taste in my mouth.
Good or bad dealer? Or somewhere in between?

Par for the course IMO. as long as you’re willing to walk, they like to play games

Was the 1.9% on their local website? If so, that is just bad in my opinion.

You should say who the dealer is and let people decide for themselves. Good dealers normally don't play games like this. Just because they can get an extra $100 over KMF for selling a higher rate loan, and let the customer eat thousands in extra interest, doesn't play well with me personally.

Nationwide Kia, Lutherville-Timonium, MD. Sorry I thought this was visible in an earlier comment. Apart from the financing issue they seemed legit so I would not dump them entirely in the bad category. I just hope I can help other folks avoid this situation, at this dealer or others.

Wow. This is very helpful because I pick up my vehicle next week from them. Now I have to rethink about bringing my own financing as backup which means running an extra credit report….

Nationwide Kia is one of those in-between….I ordered mine at MSRP, but when time to pick up, I spent over 3 hours at the dealership (car getting prepped, Kia finance manager out so had to get driven over to their Nissan F/I manager to get paperwork done, etc. etc. etc.). For comparison, when I picked up my 2010 Honda Pilot with MileOne using the ”fax quotes” method, in-and-out in under an hour. This with a pregnant wife and the Pilot still on the car hauler with 0 miles. Also when I picked up my 2016 Accord from Anderson Honda when bought thru emails, also less than 1 hour.

@Hal before I went to pick up at Nationwide, I went on the Kia site and got pre-approved for the 1.9% rate (>800 FICO) and used the 21093 zip code to select Nationwide to get it sent in advance. Not sure if it had changed, but I picked mine up a couple months ago.

Thanks. I called them yesterday to confirm 1.9% rate is available as well as the military discount and they said yes. Since I secured a price at MSRP there is a part of me that thinks they would love nothing more than to see me not take possession so they could sell at MSRP+++ since they are now doing the “market adjustment”. One thing in my favor is I am trading a 2020 EX and I know they want that on their lot. Thanks again.

Maybe this is why my Hilltop order isn't getting into KFOS after 6 months, they are ordering for markups now instead.
Did your order ever made it to KFOS. I am in a similar situation. Any others facing similar experience with Hilltop Kia ?

Highly recommend Kia of Columbia MO, and salesman David King. Was able to get an unassigned incoming Sangria SX from them. $1000 deposit. Was promised MSRP and $199 document fee. Vehicle arrived two weeks early. Flew into Columbia and David picked me up at the airport in my new Telluride. Easy transaction. No markup. No extra fees. No BS. Paid exactly as promised and financed with Kia at 1.9%. Dealership threw in Kia all weather mats and cargo mat. Super impressed with David and Kia of Columbia.

Congrats. You did very well. Nice to hear a positive story about a dealer not gouching their customers

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Lucas Boehm at Kia of Muncie. Ordered 2021 SX AWD back in March. Was told 6-8 months. Was in no hurry to get it and the order ended up converting to 2022 SX AWD. Received email that it was scheduled to arrive last Monday. Picked it up last night. No surprises. No BS. Great customer service! Highly recommend this dealer!!! Thanks again, Lucas!

I had a good experience buying from Jakeob Taylor at Arapahoe Kia in Denver. I placed my order at the end of June, and apparently they sell pretty high volume. KFOS opened up for orders a couple of days later and I had a VIN number 24 hours later. My ETA was pushed back a few weeks, but ultimately I picked up the new Telluride ten weeks after placing my order. Price wise, I was charged MSRP+Destination+$695. They did not tack on any unwanted accessories and did not require me to purchase any sort of maintenance or warranties - in fact I got a coupon for my first oil change free. Jake was easy to work with and the finance manager Chelsea was fast. I think picking up with vehicle took just over two hours. Definitely recommend!

Bramlett Kia in Decatur Alabama is selling at MSRP.

They were very kind and professional. I believe they are allocated about 7 - 11 Tellurides a month.

Hello - I am new to this forum and haven’t yet purchased a vehicle. I am in Las Vegas NV area and all LV dealerships have market adjustments from $4000 - $9000 over MSRP. No 2022 Costco pricing available yet and highly doubt that will happen anytime soon. I’ve seen a couple of great recommendations on this forum from dealerships in the Denver CO area - any on the “left coast“? WA, OR, CA, ID, UT - thanks in advance!

This is great to hear, congrats. I just got word from Lucas that my order was picked up with an ETA of 11/6. I can’t wait. Lucas has been fantastic so far.
