• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

Ehh, it's not about scrolling past, it's about forum etiquette. Trying to keep the forum positive by highlighting the negative and eradicating it.
Good luck with that since it is entirely subjective and text post communications don’t convey human emotion the same way as a real interaction. But you do you, I’ll just scroll past the judgements and hope I don’t miss anything helpful to a car owner.

Indeed. "helpful", exactly, that's what we are shooting for, not the negativity. 👍🏻But back to the topic at hand..... less than 24 hours to go!

Negativity today is what I’m hoping Kia will use as room for improvement to make my next buying experience better. I believe some of the negativity on this forum in 2019 (admittedly some coming from me) is what made the 2022 and even better deal and may have influenced updates to the manual and TSBs to fix things. Hopefully Kia sees it all as constructive criticism and areas for improvement in their selling practices. At least maybe the service departments practices and general bad reputations. I’d rather the forum moderators don’t try to enforce their own etiquette rules as I’m all for free speech and Kia is south of the 38th parallel.

I'm not suggesting you're poor in the slightest. Also, I can't afford a $20K markup, not even close. I was able to sell my 2013 Honda Accord for $14K and have $5K to put down as a down payment. That's the only way I am able to afford it myself. My point is, if you can't afford a $150 plane ticket to go oick one up, maybe you're stretching yourself too thin. Being frustrated is fine, but geez man, it seems like every post of yours is shooting down other people's suggestions, or whining. We get it, it sucks, but constantly complaining doesn't solve the issue and only serves to make you look like a cry baby. I can't afford a BMW M5 Competition, but I'm not going to cry about it on the Beemer forums every chance I get.
So lets see:

someone on here: "try Nutley Kia! They have kias at MSRP. Or try Sussman Kia, they have them too. 4 months, under MSRP!"

me: *calls Nutley gets told they won't sell to me as I'm "out of local market." Calls Sussman to find out that they are no longer accepting ANY orders. Post both of those FACTS on the forum, as help to other buyers, clearing up MISLEADING AND INCORRECT INFORMATION*

Hangfires stupid ass: "stop whining."

**** you buddy. I'm not "crying" about not being to afford a Kia Telluride. I'm frustrated at this asinine process, and the crazy amount of convoluted, unhelpful and WRONG information; posted by assholes like YOU, that then have the audacity to get their panties in a bunch when someone corrects them. Gotta love internet anonymity; where people can talk tough from behind their keyboards.

Again, I appreciate every one that was helpful. Not for any attention or sympathy, but so that you simply don't waste anymore of your precious time, I'm leaving this forum, so there's no reason to reply.

If people being upset with an upsetting process, and posting about it on a FORUM DESIGNED FOR SUCH THINGS really twists you up in such knots, maybe just go take a drive in your Kia Telluride or something, you pansy. *middle finger*

Out.

Buh-bye 👋🏻

Actually, yes, I have. What I HAVEN’T done, is find the expendable income and time it would take to order a Telly, wait 6 months for it, then fly to COLORADO, and drive it back to NEW JERSEY. I don’t get how this type of a thing is an option for so many people.

It is a pretty sh***y situation right now WRT getting a Telluride. In my opinion, you and all members are welcome to vent, though I don't think that's the primary raison d'etre for this forum. You also need to accept the the Telluride situation as it currently exists however.

The fact is that many, perhaps most dealers are not taking orders for Tellurides right now, likely because they know that there is no chance for that order to get picked up by Kia and they don't want even more pissed off customers. The few dealers who will take your order are generally the ones with ridiculous "market adjustment" fees. It also looks like dealers still selling at MSRP who were always relatively small in number are dwindling further these days (e. g., Sussman in SE PA used to sell at MSRP but changed recently and now adds a $1,500 markup). And it also looks like those who still sell at MSRP won't take an order for a 2023 until the formal announcement by Kia of the changeover.

All of this is frustrating, and frankly, I think Kia is very foolish in not doing something to prevent or at least make if harder for their dealers to take unwarranted advantage by charging $10,000 and even $15,000 over list. The Telluride is not always going to be such a coveted vehicle and consumers will certainly remember that Kia took advantage of an unusual situation and purchase from Ford, Chevy, Toyota - any dealer not called "Kia."

The bottom line though is that you can get a Telluride at MSRP but it will require some work, possibly some travel, and certainly a lot of patience. If you're content with being "Telluride adjacent", you can opt for a Palisade. From my cursory look at Hyundai dealers, it looks like most are selling at MSRP and can deliver much more quickly.

Oh man forgot about digital Key. That might be new for 2023. Looks like it's new for the palisade so it might trickle over. wifi hotspot option as well.

Increased Telluride production by 20%. Not too shabby. I wonder how much the XLine will sell for. FINALLY a tow mode. I wonder which models will get it.

Surprised they barely showed the new dashboard but I gotta say I'm pretty happy with the changes so far....in that I'm not looking to upgrade my 2021 ;)

Finally a blue. RIP amber running lights.

Cars.com is claiming the X-Line and X-Pro are replacing NF. I didn't hear that in the presentation, anyone else seeing that somewhere other than Cars.com?

Seemed like an X-Line/X-Pro thing only? Maybe I misunderstood the presentation.

Hot take: they've ruined the headlights but the taillights look better. Overall I'm disappointed in the changes to the appearance.

I don't like the bottom of the front (the part that looks like a piece fell off)-- hoping it's just for the X-line trim. I also don't like the stitching of the seats-- I much prefer the horizontal stitching on the 2022 (and before) prestige seats. I don't mind the rest. And I'm so glad the Telly isn't getting that gimicky climate-turns-to-radio-all-in-one control inside.
