If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Murray kia order to delivery time

Can confirm, I spoke with him Friday after losing my mind on his GM via email on Thursday.

It’s a good sign that they’re changing their tune. I’ll want to see my car and the price and I’ll be happy to report that they turned into a good place to do business.
Can you share what you got out of the conversation with Jake?

Just because you were taking care of doesn’t change them Into a good place of business.

They need to take care of all the customers that were short changed. Not just customers who placed orders prior to January. And I am sure they KIA AND THE DEALER LOST some customers to buying different vehicles.

I agree with Tony here but I'll take it a step further. A good place of business would not only honor ALL prior commitments, but they would not be selling new vehicles at a ridiculous $7k+ markup. Even when this madness all calms down, I won't be doing business with Allentown or Raceway Kia.

I agree Tony. But unfortunately, today's companies deal with more profits than ethics. Deals will be changed or broken.
In hindsight, they could have handled this transition of ownership a lot better. I'm just glad for this forum in that we could all band together and affect them enough to backtrack at least somewhat on fulfilling past promises. Even though I lost my car, I'm glad that some of you will be able to purchase yours. I'm always a fan of "its not what you say, but how you say it."

Agreed.

The GM claimed that Murray had no paperwork on these orders, which is not true. I provided our purchase order and deposit receipt. He dug in further by also saying there was nothing to honor or not honor because the vehicle doesn’t exist, and that it hasn’t been picked up by KFOS. I sent a long, firm response stating that any of your circumstances are based on your own decisions, including to purchase or not purchase the dealership.
He backpedaled and said if our order fills, we will get it at the terms we agreed, and if it doesn’t fill we can take our deposit back or pay up for another unit. So my concerns moved on to whether they’re going to intentionally withhold our car or sell it to someone else until they make enough money to start fulfilling orders like ours.

There wasn’t much to glean from the discussion. I wrote him a long email explaining our individual situation and we should assume he or someone there is now monitoring this thread.

He went through a brag about how many dealerships he owns, his country wide best customer service, highest volume kia dealer, etc.
he got into a tangent about how much tellurides are going for at Mannheim which claims is $10k over msrp for used (as though any of us can go to Mannheim without a dealer license lol), said he has customers willing to pay $30k over msrp.
Much of what he told me had very little to do with our specific order, but I mentioned that people have been waiting a long time to have this car pulled from under them, and further that as rates go up and so will my payments. I also told him as a former car salesman that I never would have thought I’d pay msrp for any car, but this is the car we wanted to get and felt it was something we could make happen at a price we felt was fair. We left it at he “will get us our car and at a price much lower than Mannheim and near msrp”. It was a lot of fluff and little substance, as he tried to build value for selling the car over what we agreed to pay. I appreciated that he got in touch with me, but his position is purely to make a lot of money.
He also said they were not told of the Telly orders until the day before/of closing the transaction. Mentioned that Murray was struggling financially because of their business model.

Unfortunately some of that does add up, but we would never know the financial state of Murray before the sale. Dealerships have floor plan financing, meaning they start to making payments after X number of days (normally 45) of a car sitting on the lot. So if they’re moving cars pretty quickly, they make pure profit. And the dealers do not pay msrp for the units.

I also did tell Jake about this forum, and how this thread was really to talk about delivery times and excitement of getting this car.

But since the new ownership came in, this thread has become info gathering and trying to see if everyone is indeed getting screwed out of their order, and how much of a shame all of that is.

I find it hard to believe that part of the due diligence done when purchasing a dealership wouldn't include a list of incoming orders and whether or not they are already allocated. If an order is already allocated, would you not expect and amount to be agreed upon? Who would order a car without having an already agreed upon price? Sounds like a lot of double-speak to me.

Furthermore, if you assume a dealership and all of its incoming orders, is it legal to claim you are not bound by their prior agreements? I could see if all of the orders were cancelled and they started from scratch, but if you assume their incoming orders, I would think you assume the agreements for these orders. I know manufacturers frown upon selling allocated orders to other parties. I thought I read somewhere here that Kia penalizes dealerships that enter customer orders for the purpose of selling it as dealer inventory...how is this any different?

So I agree with much of this. I called them on the fact that they had deposits (a transaction) in exchange for a product to be deliver (good/service). The deposits were non refundable if we walked away for our own reasons (ie found another car).

So just a quick note to all of those out there in pain and not knowing what lie's ahead here is a contact for straight up advertised at MSRP and a salesperson that was quick to help me. He even followed up on my dilemma to see how things were going. Best salesperson I ever came in contact with when buying a car. He is in West Virginia, far for those local here but hey less pain, on the level, no bs, straight shooter, may be worth a 5-6 hour drive to avoid the hassle and high blood pressure and just the piece of mind that integrity and ethics will give you. If I could have been guarenteed a 2022 Harry would have had my order but I feared it was too late to order the 2022 which I preferred over the 2023. Reason not sure what packages and colors were going to be available, wanted the Prestige nightfall.

Alright after cooling off and calling Jake back because I thought I was getting the run around.

-He apologized for my situation and said he's going to make it right
-He extended the olive branch and said he would try to get me another telluride exactly the way I ordered it through additional allocation
-He explained his situation when he bought Murray Kia which is already documented from @jmk5217
-I also told him I was willing to just order another telluride if he can't get me one I wanted.

At this point, I'm just going to see how this plays out and see if he keeps his word.

Good Luck. Stay calm its a tough fight. Be persistent and don't give up or give in. Keep us posted. Sure hope you get the 2023 at MSRP.

Thanks. Either way I’m getting a telluride sometime this year whether it’s through him or Arapahoe Kia. There was no point in being angry over it and lashing out as it’s already over with. It was a productive conversation because we were both cool headed.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to provide any information I could, be another data point. I know things have been crazy and it seems like there's been a lot of back and forth.

I spoke on the phone with a Mr. Nick Sette, one of the Sales Managers at Raceway. (I had to call reception, they took my information down, he called me ~30 minutes later)
He confirmed with me my ETA (matches what Stephen last provided) and that Raceway would be honoring all deals with Murray at MSRP. I asked him to send me an email just stating that so I had something on my end, so that's pictured below. Email also there if anyone else needs to reach out.

I know, from that Facebook post, they'd been backpedaling and saying that orders placed before January 15th would be honored, but Nick did not mention any specific dates in regard to that. Granted, my order was placed in November and picked up some time in April (I want to say before the sale), so I'm not sure how valuable this information will be to others. My order details are in my signature below.
Also, I emailed 'orders@racewaykiapia.com' because that's what the person running the Facebook page said to do, but I got no response. The receptionist didn't even know this email existed. Lol

Sorry to anyone that's been screwed over by them. Best of luck to everyone.

Thanks to everyone that fought and convinced them to honor msrp. So now maybe we can start to look for deliveries. Lol.

On March 31 i was 25th in line per my last email from Roger before the mess happened. If my math is "right", there was the 20 in April and I read there was 18 ib May - maybe i got picked up? How do i tell if my SX prestige non-nightfall got picked up?

Did you just order or did you get a vin. Check www.failcat.com to see if your vin is listed or call the dealer for an update
Thanks - i know about fallcat. Guess i forgot to ask what their dealer number is. We got Everlasting silver with black, sx awd prestige. Doesn't look like it is in there yet.

Anyone get their car from Raceway yet? Wondering if they are really honoring msrp

What is Raceway new dealer ID to look up in Fallcat? Thank you
