We went with Butler b/c they claimed they don’t mark-up their cars like other dealerships have been. That is crazy. Sorry to hear. I wonder whether I should have gone with Lou Fusz instead. They are way higher volume than Butler.
Sorry to hear they treated you like that. We live in clown world and the greed knows no limits. We went with Butler b/c they claimed they don’t mark-up their cars like other dealerships have been.
I really hope I like the car for as long as I’ve waited & it’s worth saving the 5k mark-up.
When I was super frustrated about my order being dropped & resubmitted, they showed NO urgency to care. Basically told me they will have no problem reselling it if I choose to back out.
I went on a car tour around town to see what else is out there, but every dealership is out of pocket! It’s nuts.
If you are open to a Palisade rather than a Telluride, Joe Machens in Columbia MO is selling at MSRP. They let you reserve incoming units. We are sticking it out waiting for our Telluride but I’m getting real nervous. We went with Butler b/c they claimed they don’t mark-up their cars like other dealerships have been.

What did it say on your order form for interior? Ours was WK…just making sure they didn’t order something else for the seatsShould get there right around that time. Fingers crossed for the car and the baby of course. I think it'll be a '23 though. There was a thread here on the forum with a dealer who said he had some inside scoop and rumor is they're going to switch to '23 production in October. He thinks it'll be even sooner. We'll see, who knows. I am hoping to get one of the last '22s but I think my wife (will be her car) would be fine with a '23. She 'd be bummed if butterscotch went away.
Got an update today that my vehicle is still in transit and the date is now pushed to 5/28. That is almost 8 months waiting!Hello,
I have placed my order first week of October. My initial ETA was 5/10 which is now moved to 5/21.
Ugh. Please please please build mine (ordered 11/17) before the model year switch!Got an update today that my vehicle is still in transit and the date is now pushed to 5/28. That is almost 8 months waiting!
You may as well keep your order in. If it shows up you can trade in the one you just bought for it for probably close to an even trade. No harm in keeping your options open.I believe I am canceling my order with Jim Butler. I was notified by a local dealer they have a ‘22 white/N/AWD coming in. The only difference in what we ordered was no tow and black interior instead of butterscotch. I’m really wanting a ‘22 instead of the ‘23 so I believe I’m going to accept the differences so I’m not waiting until most likely next year. It’s scheduled to be here the 3rd but I’m hopefully by the end of the month.
Very true! When it comes in in about 10ish months I may want a 2023. Thanks for the advise! You may as well keep your order in. If it shows up you can trade in the one you just bought for it for probably close to an even trade. No harm in keeping your options open.
Finally, I picked up my vehicle today. Saw many Tellurides today at the parking lot.Got an update today that my vehicle is still in transit and the date is now pushed to 5/28. That is almost 8 months waiting!
How was the pickup process? I'm in the KC area but Jim Butler was the closest dealership I could find that would offer me a Telluride at MSRP. I'll be pretty upset if I drive 4 hours to pick up my new Telluride and they try to hold me hostage with a "market adjustment" once I arrive. Finally, I picked up my vehicle today. The consumer's no. 1 weapon in any "normal" (pre-pandemic) auto purchase negotiation was the ability to walk away. There's really nothing you could do to force a lower price, but you could always leave the deal on the table. But now, in an era of production limits, and especially with a universally coveted vehicle, that consumer power has been neutralized. It's very hard to bargain when you know that they simply do not care whether they sell to you or to the next person in the endless queue. It doesn't even feel like a negotiation much of the time. Good luck though.I'll be pretty upset if I drive 4 hours to pick up my new Telluride and they try to hold me hostage with a "market adjustment" once I arrive.

The pickup process pretty straight forward. My MSRP was different from the time I placed the order but not by much, around ~ $300. There was processing fee of $377 from the dealership. Financing guy was also friendly. The whole process took around 2 hours as there was another person in front of me to pick up her vehicle. How was the pickup process? Thanks! I know my MSRP is going to change since I ordered a 2022 and I'll end up with a 2023, but as long as I pay whatever the MSRP is at the time, I'm fine with that. Good to know the finance guy was friendly and not combative. The pickup process pretty straight forward. My MSRP was different from the time I placed the order but not by much, around ~ $300.
