I put them on the dashboard in a hurry to fasten my seatbelt and my husband started driving before I was able to grab them! LOL So they slipped into the air vent in the center of the dashboard that almost touches the windshield. I looked everywhere online and it seems like i am the only one in creation that managed it! LOLI don't even want to ask how you managed to do that! LOL
Thanks so much! I just ordered this camera, which has a retrieval hook that I can attach, also a magnet which will come in handy because we also dropped a screw in there from the grill we removed ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00. The earrings are gold so a magnet won't work, but I also ordered this sink snake tool ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00. I am hoping when the tools arrive tomorrow, I will be able to retrieve them. Thanks for the idea! I am sure this will be cheaper than going to a mechanic! Let alone a non-invasive surgeon! LOL LOL LOL
If you can see it, you can retrieve it. Not sure if this would work and if the opening is big enough. If you see it, would have to come up with a plan, either magnets or something sticky. Happen to have a surgeon around that's good with non invasive surgery?
We tried that first, and nothing. Thanks for trying though.Shut all the vents besides the one the earring is in. Turn the fan speed to full blast.
LOL Thanks. If the camera and sink snake bring no results, I will def bring it to a dealer. They are valuable, so i need to retrieve them.I seriously doubt if a magnet would work on what I assume is mostly gold? Anyway, what you need is something really sticky and I suggest you go get some Gorilla double-sided tape. Wrap a piece around something like a thin screwdriver, or tongue depressor, or long toothpick, and carefully go on a fishing expedition.
If you still can't retrieve it, then you have a decision to make: If it is valuable or has great sentimental value, then bite the bullet and let you dealer get it. They'll know how to remove the dash. If it is costume earring then just forgetaboutit!
Will do! ThanksLet us know how it turns out -- and good luck!
I cannot see it, I am hoping to see it when the camera gets delivered tomorrow. Can you see it?
Do you have a small mirror like a dental mirror?I cannot see it, I am hoping to see it when the camera gets delivered tomorrow.
What's the update? Did you recover it yourself or dealer charged you $500?Will do! Thanks![]()
That's a good story, and I'd stick to it if I were you. Let the rest of us imagine what you and hubby were doing!!!!!I put them on the dashboard in a hurry to fasten my seatbelt and my husband started driving before I was able to grab them! It sounds like a tricky situation, but don't worry; you're not the first to face such a mishap! Here are a few ideas that might help you retrieve your earring from the air vent in your Kia Telluride dashboard:I dropped an earring into the air vent in the center of my telluride dashboard. Any ideas on how to get it out?
