Hi everyone, have a bit of a strange one. I've searched through the forums as well as on-line and haven't been able to find this issue with the Telluride. I'm assuming its not common.
We have a 2022 SX-L (Canada) picked up in April. It was parked out in front of a store for about 15 minutes. When we got back to the car, it was full of white smoke. Opened the doors and saw that a small section on the back of the passenger seat was burning/melting. We were able to quickly put it out.
Went straight to the dealer, assuming it was caused by the seat heater. Although it was parked and off. Dealer inspected and feels that it started from outside the vehicle, not from inside the seat. The windows were closed so nothing was thrown in. They feel it may have been a freak accident caused by a magnifying glass effect through the windshield. Hard to believe IMO. Either way, its all being covered under warranty but I was wondering if anyone has heard of this happening on the Telluride before.
Thank you
