What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

What fees did they charge? Also why Anti theft? It's already on the car.
When I ordered the car, I just kept hearing about the the theft issues so honestly I was like sure add it. Now of course I realize I do not need it but I take the lesson since I got my factory ordered car in 28 days and didn't otherwise pay a markup outside of the unneeded anti-theft package. I guess I couldn't win them all in this situation.

Just verbally agreed for SX XPRO in wolf grey from destination kia. MSRP. They seem to have a few available in various colors. Was looking for the wolf gray specifically. pick it up Saturday.

New to the forum. Went to my local Kia dealership here in northern NJ to look at some Tellurides. Dealer has a markup of $7k on a SX Prestige Telluride model he was showing me. I didn't think they were still doing dealer markups.

Get out of NJ to buy your car. Do some research and you will find many dealers selling at MSRP or that plus a token dealer protection package (figure $1400 -2000). Take a train to pickup or even fly. You'll find dealers willing to pick you up at an airport.
Don't worry about buying out of state with regard to service or warranty repair -- that'll still be handled by your NJ dealer with open arms.

Nutley Kia is the only dealer in NJ selling at MSRP, but they only sell to the northern half of the state.

And markups ain’t going anywhere for a while yet…

Good to know. I guess I would qualify as being in North Jersey. I will check them out.

Just got a Wolf gray EX Line for 1500 over MSRP in southern Ca. after calling 4-5 dealerships and only getting a real price over the phone from 2, this seemed to be an OPK deal without going into several dealers in person. Fairly painless process at Allstar Kia in Moreno Valley. they did take off most dealer installed accessories and almost all of the markup.

Curious how this went! I'm about to do a deal with them. Who did you deal with?

I am interested to hear from my fellow California shoppers. I am trying to order a 2024 SXP X-Line with specific colors (Everlasting/Terracotta). While I am willing to wait, I still am having trouble swallowing the high market adjustments. I am on the Central Coast so have been contacting dealerships in NorCal and SoCal and still find the average adjustment above MSRP is $5K. I just got our closest dealer in Santa Maria to come down from $7K to $3K for the market adjustment in their latest offer. They also (LOL) said they would 'waive the aftermarket protections they install on their higher end models'. Should I take it for the exact model, trim, and color I want? Curious as to your thoughts. Thanks.

Not California by any means (Virginia) but why not order at a dealer in another state without any market? Surely a one-way ticket and meals and hotel will be significantly cheaper than paying the markup?

Ciocca Kia in Trenton NJ also doing ‘market adjustments’ as are the Beans dealers in Pa north of Philly. We got our 2023 xpro end of April & it was msrp & ‘market adjustment’. No negotiation. And the cars were flying off the lot. We got ours an hour after it came off the truck.

I appreciate the argument for out of state purchases. I was simply trying to determine if the market adjustment impact for CA has changed such that my quote was 'reasonable'. Thanks for your reply.

Ok, in your situation, I think the 3K markup is not too great but not awful either. Considering that many dealers claiming no mark-up still add on the dealer protection package for at least $1400 and the fact that if you traveled to one of these out of state dealers, you would have your travel expenses -- it could pretty much be break even for you.

"Should I take it for the exact model, trim, and color I want?" -- What time frame are they quoting? If it is two months or less, I would probably take the deal.

I am happy to report I placed an order for a 2024 SXP X-line (Everlasting Silver/Terracotta) with a few accessories. Santa Maria Kia (CA) is estimating 3-4 months, so will see how that works out. I negotiated $3K over MSRP and no dealer add-on. No deposit was required. The dealership is owned by the same group that owns the local Toyota dealership that I have purchased 3 vehicles from since 2006, so hoping for no last-minute shenanigans. Cannot wait to be a Telluride owner. I appreciate all the great information this forum has provided!

I was told by my local dealer here in Florida that a 2024 EX should be able to be purchased at MSRP. I was considering an EX or possibly an SX FWD. Does this sound feasible as these are not the most popular trim groups?
