2023 Telluride Trailer Hitch Receiver availability

Been following this thread for a while now and hoping an answer is there from Kia but it looks like 2022 hitch and Palisade harness is the solution. I'm going to order the hitch and cut the panel per the template then I was thinking I might 3d model a piece to print in PET-G and glue into place on the backside of the panel for the hitch harness. Once I get there I'll share the files if anyone is interested in printing one themselves.
I am totally interested in this as well. I was contemplating doing the same thing but don't have a 3D scanner to make a mesh of the current panel on the vehicle. I have a printer and am well versed in Solidworks though.

This was exactly the same with my 2020 with the factory hitch so it sounds the same. Not sure what the reason for so much play until it was torqued (fitment?). It's been perfect over the last 3 years.
Good to hear. It snugged up after I torqued it down but I never thought it would because of the gaps before tightening. Will be installing the wiring harness soon. It finally arrived yesterday. Im still dumbfounded that kia has done nothing to address this. Thank goodness for the internet sleuths!!

Does the wiring harness include the necessary hardware to fasten the plug to the hitch?

It does if you have the oem hitch, it will bolt right to the bracket thats on the hitch.

Here are some installed pics of OEM hitch S9F61-AU000 with the Hyundai Palisade 7-Pin. (SXP X-Pro) Must say, hitch installation was easy and I like the slightly higher mount the OEM hitch has, but I am a little disappointed on how 7-pin connector seems to get swallowed up by the cover. Hoping Kia releases a hitch cover for OEM hitch similar to the 2000-2022 cover that fits. If they do not or if the cover they release does not fit old OEM Hitch, I’ll go back and cleanup my cuts more and cut a little bit more away in front of Harness. Regardless, I’m ecstatic hitch fits great and I have a plug and play harness. Also, would like to thank Tyger23 for confirming Palisade Harness worked and posting installation instructions.

Note: If any one wants to know, I used hyper-dip Gloss Black on bumper. I plan on adding to 2-more coats in near future(once humidity drops) to even out rear bumper. Front looks great and will upload photos to black out thread after next car wash.View attachment 30753
Did you disconnect the battery when installing the wiring harness? I see it calls for that in the instructions and wondered if it is necessary

dtburgh... 2 additional questions.
1. Do you happen to still have a copy of the instructions that came with your S9F61-AU002 kit? I ordered the kit from KiaPartsNow but it showed up today without instructions. I want to be sure I do things correctly, torque in the proper pattern, and to the correct specs.
2. What is the part number for the Pallisade harness you ordered?

I do. I can take some pics of it in the morning. And the wiring harness was mentioned here before I believe. But its s8f67 ac800. Hyundai parts pro in Canada has them

That'd be great, thank you! And for the part number.

Thanks! You're a life saver. #hero
You’re welcome. There’s YouTube videos of someone installing a factory hitch on a 22 telluride if you need more visuals. It’s fairly simple. It Kicked my butt tho because im outta shape!

Here’s that video

Your video is so excellent it is amazing. Never seen such attention to detail, such fine camera resolution, such good lighting! I think you have answered a thousand questions folks had with this installation.

I am most impressed with the trim piece - I just can't see why anyone would opt to fashion their own.

I got the impression throughout your presentation that you had done this before, is that correct? Are you an engineer? You sound like one (y)

I didn’t make the video and this is a 22 telluride so the trim piece is different unfortunately. So you have to trim them to fit on the 23’s.

Ahh -- I should have read previous posts
Now I understand better the frustration with the '23 models with regard to the trim piece. How KIA could be so negligent in providing the proper trim piece just blows my mind! As I said elsewhere - someone at KIA engineering should be fired, in fact the whole division.

I’ll try to attach pics here. Hopefully they’re legible
This was posted by another user too on another thread. Mine also came without the instructions and this printed legibly.

Agreed on the self leveling suspension, certainly not a necessary component to towing with the Telluride.

As for the Hyundai Palisade 7-pin harness, I just want to point out to folks that some members on this forum have waited 3-5 months for the part and so availability is not instant like we have come to expect. For anyone buying a Telluride this summer who needs to tow this summer, it is just going to be a challenge.

Of course, for people who only need a hitch for things like a bike rack, that can be resolved immediately with a number of good solutions.
I ordered the 7 pin harness for my 23 Palisade from Hyundaipartspro in Canada and it came in 2 weeks to Minnesota.

Thanks Kevin.west11. I was able to install using the You Tube video and the instructions sent by dtburgh. BUT, I downloaded these as a more printer friendly version to refer to in the future if I need to revisit. I still need to try ordering the Pallisade harness but at least we can get a luggage rack or bike rack onto the thing for now. My next task is to cut my bumper trim as outlined on page 9.

Anyone know if that is easier or ordering the 2022 piece and trimming it?

Thanks all!

2023 is a different rear bumper so the 2022 cover is not compatible
Can someone tell me if this is a true fitting trailer hitch?
Question:

when will a hitch be avilable for 2023 kia Telluride, 4wd? thank you

There is one hitch available for the 2023 Kia Telluride. It is the etrailer Hitch item # e45ZR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Telluride with included hardware. I confirmed with the manufacturer this also fits the 4WD models.

I really like this hitch because it mounts behind your rear bumper cover leaving only the 2" x 2" receiver visible.

The etrailer Hitch item # e45ZR is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver and it weighs 46 lbs. It has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 900 lbs maximum tongue weight. This towing capacity can be increased to 6,000 lbs when used with a weight distribution system.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a ball mount kit item # C45534.
