However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. About to close the deal- sx w/ prestige, tow, cross bars & bumper protection.... still no floor mats..... going in next few days
Dealers still commanding premium? Thinking of asking split difference 1.5K
MSRP 47810, 3k premium, 894 total -1k rebate
50,704.04 otd
Just digesting the 3k premium above msrp...never ever msrp... just wanting to know current climate
Maybe split premium 50/50?

Thoughts????

The decision is all yours. If you're comfortable with paying premium then you should do it.

As for me....nope. I can wait a bit more. Just my .02

depends on region first. some won't budge, others are already under msrp.

if you order, just about anywhere has dealers that will promise (MSRP) in writing. Patience pays off. If you need it now, and it makes you happy even if you have to pay more to a blood-thirsty dealer, go for it. :)

Oregon- don't need P package but was a order that went south ... just want sx and hitch other crap Can be dealt with

your wait is probably about ~3 months if you order most likely and someone's willing to do it likely in your area at MSRP. ~$33/day savings if you wait :)

Maybe tell the dealer that you're not paying their markup but will place an order and put a deposit down if they'll take an order at MSRP. Maybe they cave eventually if it doesn't sell off the floor?

Got my EX AWD in Everlasting Silver on Monday. Paid MSRP got $1,000 KMF rebate, took 1.9% finance for 24 months and got a fair value for my Audi Q5 trade. Most dealers are still asking for $2,000-$5000 over MSRP until you tell them you can get it elsewhere at MSRP. I still think it crazy to pay MSRP, but I wanted the Telluride and didn't want to wait 6-12 months or more for the discounts.

I vote NO on paying ANYTHING over MSRP!

I totally agree with this. Obviously, it's your choice, OP, but I cannot imagine paying over MSRP for anything. I have owned my "lowly" EX since March, and while it is a nice rig, it's just a vehicle.

Totally up to you. Shop around. Here in Nebraska I have three dealers within 45 min drive. One offered $3K over MSRP, one offered MSRP but with ~$2K with of "mandatory add on", One offered MSRP +$180 doc fee. Guess which one I ordered from

Well my plan is to walk in with $22k down, msrp minus 1k incentive +ttl
They can take it or I walk
I want it, but it's a want - wife could drive my F350 for a little bit

Well, unlike buying a house, bringing in cash for a car does not give you any advantage. It only means they/KIA will be making less in financing money.

Can I ask which dealer you went with?

I am in NJ and a month ago a few dealers around me were adding 1500 to MSRP. Now they are contacting me to say they will sell at MSRP. I was told a month ago the car wouldn't last through the weekend and I still see the EX model I was looking at a month ago at the dealer. I suspect the demand and supply on some models such as the EX have changed in the last month. Patience is key. We are still deciding on color. We are in no rush. We don't have a lease ending, and we own our current vehicle (Tahoe) We liked the Moss until we saw it in the white, now we are looking for the Everlasting Silver to see that in person.

KIA in Norwood MA has 10 SX in the lot (most w/prestige) and 1 S model and they are NOT moving them! They were selling $10k over MSRP for the last few months and are pridefully advertising a reduction to $5k over! Unbelievable! Crooks sitting on all of those beautiful cars!6754F9FF-9050-43F8-91E8-6173C0AD8D04.webpC44B7FC6-DF0A-45F5-9C58-BA3779C2418E.webp

I'd have those sold in a day!

If you don't need it right away and can find someone to order an SX (non prestige) from, you could easily save at least 5-6k above what you are looking at now. And the wait would not be as long for an SX as it is for an SXP (judging by what I've been seeing). Then again, I also agree with going ahead with it if you are so inclined. No wrong answer.

Shows people in MA are well educated and won’t be swindled!

Here in NJ they won't special order any
I wonder why. I'm fortunate that the dealer down the road places sold orders at MSRP. I know there are a few -- relatively locally -- who are asking over MSRP. I sometimes wonder if they even have what they are advertising on the lot because they seem to be there a while.
