OUCH!4-6 months
OUCH!4-6 months
Crystal Ball? With all the "hype" and endless GREAT reviews in almost every publication PLUS KIA always advertising the vehicle, my guess it will take until at least mid-late 2021. My two cents. BEST CASE... end of 2020?Back when I needed a new car because my 2014 Enclave was having some issues, both recall and not, I couldn't get my choice, the one I wanted was 2-3 months out. My Enclave is paid off and I am not using it for a trade in. I have since gotten my issues with the Enclave fixed, around 1k, so I am all good. Now I would like to wait until 2021 Tellurides come out. Do you think the wait will be as crazy?
I appreciate your honesty. Many dealerships says 4-8 weeks. They should not be telling people that. I’m one of them4-6 months
On the bright side,I think the Telluride is teaching me patience in the process lolLot of it is just to get an order. We are as upfront as we can be. If you are not patient this is not the vehicle for you right now.

Has not always been offered. Vehicles started showing up late October. We got 4 of them. Sold Out in a few daysOrdered my Dark Moss SX-P with dune interior on 7/25 and still have no expected delivery date. I did order from a smaller dealership in a small city in New Mexico (perhaps should have ordered from a larger dealership in a larger city). When I ordered, I was told that the only trim levels that offered the 7 passenger 2nd row bucket seat option were the S or SX. After reading this forum, I discovered there is an EX package that has a 7 passenger configuration as well and it actually aligns more with what I was wanting. Has this option always been available or was the dealership I was working with just clueless? I haven’t seen any EX’s out there in inventory that have the Premier package on them, so I’m wondering if it’s a newer option or if the delays on that configuration are just as common as the SX-P’s. Anyone have any insight?
Thanks for your reply, Jason. I figured that might be the case. It’s easy to see why they sold so quickly. Kia was smart to add that as an option to more trim levels.Has not always been offered. Vehicles started showing up late October. We got 4 of them. Sold Out in a few days
Not an advantage. Unless you say one to three units is a lot. We ran a scan of incoming in our area and the data we gathered does not give that theory any added bonus. Everyone in same boat. On another note, I know this has somewhat been discussed before in this forum, but is there any difference between ordering from a smaller dealership vs. a big one when it comes to allocations and how quickly orders get processed? Obviously if you order from a smaller dealer, there are likely less orders in front of yours for them to get through, but I’m still so confused how the allocation process works.
Jason, what about posting your ordered vehicles as they show up at your dealership? You could just post the order date, and the model. The arrival date would obviously be when you post it. This would give all the people that have ordered from you a relative timeline to go by and also might alleviate some of the anticipation people are feeling, that they may get a car just a few weeks from ordering. I, myself would rather have a realistic timeline and then be able to just check the forum every couple of weeks to see how things are progressing. It might even alleviate some phone calls and emails on your end.Lol. Wise you are.
We keep our customers orders private. We update our customers as soon as we have information from KIA. We don't have to give many updates because of this.Jason, what about posting your ordered vehicles as they show up at your dealership? You could just post the order date, and the model. Appreciate the info. and timeline. Hope others do the same so we can all start breathing again.....Can confirm. Kia Muncie is incredibly straightforward about everything and essentially updated me the very moment something happened, up to and including videos of the truck pulling up to deliver the vehicle and another after it was unloaded.
In terms of wait time, I got extremely lucky.
Ordered: 10/5
Filled: 10/14
VIN: 10/29
Delivered: 11/4
That’s warp speed and not indicative of how long it takes to get an SXP (I got a FWD SX), but it goes to show you that you just never know with the “Kia Gods.” It got delivered so fast that my flight to pick it up isn’t for another two weeks!
My local dealer is quite large. When we ordered our Telluride in October the finance guy let it slip that they had 55 Tellurides on backorder. Sometimes the bigger dealerships may get a few extra cars but they also might have double the orders as well.
I'm not going to say what we have on order but we are close. This was out of the norm but it had to happen to someone! The God's Have Spoken! Can confirm.
