There’s enough sun in a couple of these pictures above to get an idea that it does throw a purpleish cast....
I’ll wait for some better pictures, but right now, I’m saying not as good as I thought......

Yes. The telluride on the right is the SX. You can tell by the fog lights and wheels. Black copper is only available on the SX.

If you all look at the portion that I circled from one of the earlier posted pics, I think this gives the best idea of what the finish may look like "in person." Looks like copper metal flake over black/brown (who woulda thought). Otherwise, it does give a more purple feel at an angle with the sun.

Hmm, I didn’t even notice that when I looked at the picture before. I love the part that is circled.

I got to see an SX today in Black Copper and was very underwhelmed. A dealer here in the Austin, TX area (Round Rock) had one on their lot. Even in the sun the copper flake was barely visible and you really had to be close to notice it. Move 5 ft away and it just looked like a regular black car. Even when you were close and the sun was hitting it right it was more a brown than copper in my opinion. The salesman mentioned that others had been in to look at it and they had felt the same way, disappointed. I can scratch Black Copper off the list of color options.

I think the black copper looks great and has a subtle richness to it, whereas the ebony black looks like every other black car out there (kinda boring). It adds a level of interest and stands out, without being obnoxious.

I agree with a previous poster that the side chrome looks a little cheap, and might be better in a tinted chrome color. Is it possible to tint chrome in aftermarket?

I’ve seen Copper Black in person. Has more flecks than ebony black. I did not get even a hint of red in the color and I saw it in direct sunlight. I also saw an Ebony Black and to be honest there was not a whole lot of difference.

To me it seemed to shine more than regular black. Are you in the Des Moines area? They have some in stock (or at least did this weekend)

I like the idea of more shine. I would love to see one myself, but I’m in Florida, nowhere near Des Moines. Ha ha
