• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The KIA Telluride in Dark Moss

Having heart palpitations here! šŸ˜‚

FC just popped up with the ONE! Well, it’s AWD drive not FWD so will stretch the budget but I find this VERY interesting. I’ve been at the dealership 2x this week and my sales guy (who we think is awesome!) knows Im set on the S Dark Moss. Obviously I won’t know til later today if it’s allocated already BUT it’s not showing any packages, only carpet mats, which I’ve noticed is typical of this dealership on inventory for the LX and S. (This ā€œcouldā€ be a clue it’s not sold.)

Im wondering, did he tell his order guy yesterday ā€œGo find a Dark Moss S, I have a buyer!ā€ šŸ¤‘

I’m trying to keep my insider knowledge close, dont really want to call the guy and say ā€œI see you have an XXX comingā€ then have To splain how I know this. 😳 I’m afraid I’m not a very good liar. šŸ˜‚

Well dayum... ā€œSold before came off the truck.ā€
My sales guy knows I want this so hopefully they’ll be able to get it pretty soon or let me order.

ETA: Ok, well, its been a couple hours, he just called and said they might have one in for me TODAY, definitely this week. Interesting....

My guess is they’re getting confused because butterscotch (and its prestige equivalent dune brown) are interestingly ordered as option packages over the black interior rather than being their own separate thing.

When you look at their window stickers, they show a ā€œblackā€ interior but have a line item in the options showing the color modification. It seems to confuse everyone to no end. Even over 20 months into these vehicles existing.

Yep, I think this is exactly what happened to us. Thankfully, for us, it was a happy surprise!

Do you have any pictures to share of the interior? I’m leaning butterscotch now after seeing some pictures online.

I posted this in another section here, but might as well add my new Dark Moss here too. This is my car fresh off the truck. I will be driving to Texas in 2 days to pick her up! I ordered this as a SX Night Fall in Dark Moss with Butterscotch leather. Also has AWD & Tow Package. I am super excited to get this thing in my possession! These were just texted to me by the dealer. I'll post more later once I get my hands on it!

Looks great! Basically the same build as me, can’t wait!

Nope. Still waiting, dealer said tracking mid-January. So that would be 3 months from order actually going into system.
The waiting was the hardest part. Fortunately my wait was only 53 days (they told me it would be longer). Maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised like I was.

Ours is Butterscotch and its gorgeous. When we went over what was coming in, we had the choice between Moss with Gray non Nightfall or Moss Nightfall with Black. That's the one we went with, but when it showed up, the seats were actually Butterscotch. We were thrilled as I was concerned the Black seats would get too hot. This probably doesn't answer your question, but in the sticker it showed Moss with Black and the Butterscotch seats was a separate item
Yes, the sticker on my Dark Moss said "black" interior. The seats are butterscotch but the headliner, A-pillars, etc are black (Butterscotch leather is the only eat option I think that comes with a black headliner and I love it!

Coming up on my one-year anniversary. Obtained the first Dark Moss SXP sold in Renton, WA in January 2020. I have since retired and relocated back to my home town in North Texas.

I do enjoy seeing other Tellurides on the road, and most of them in this area have been white. I have yet to see a fellow Dark Moss, we just arrived 4 weeks ago. I still completely enjoy seeing this vehicle shine in the dark of night as well as under the bright Texas sun. To me, it takes on different personalities depending on how the light hits it. And yes, I keep a California Duster in my trunk storage for when I want to give it a quick brush and keep it clean.

I've had a LOT of people inquire about the color and offer up compliments. Kia did well in selecting it as their flagship launch exterior!

It's been nothing but compliments over here too. So far I've only seen it shine in the low winter sun but I can't wait to see the other personalities as the sunlight increases. I've seen some photos where it gives off a bronze glow in direct sunlight and the body lines make it so that you see multiple shades of Dark Moss under sunlight because of all the angles.

It's also the greatest name for a color and Kia's most accurate for the Telluride in my opinion. I was looking at a mossy rock in my neighborhood the other day and thankfully my car doesn't look like bright green moss or "moss green" like so many people like to call it. It's truly a dark moss color that brings out the deeper greens/browns/dark notes but has enough metallic flake in it to sparkle bronze under strong direct sunlight.

I can't wait for summer. I'm hoping to organize a Telluride cruise through the Black Hills of South Dakota in the new year. We can't let the Harley Davidson owners have all the fun up there :)
