Anti theft question

so last night someone tried to break into my telluride with the crowbar type thing that slides down the window to unlock the door but the alarm went off and they must've bolted. They didn't unlock the door which made me wonder if there's some kind of sensor that detects things like that. My husband's car was broken into the same way (older car than my telly) and his alarm didn't go off til they opened the door. I tried looking at the specs and features of the telly but couldn't find an answer online anywhere.

Wow..that's unfortunate. Not sure about what sensor triggered the alarm...but I remember reading the Owners Manual and they have a section on the Theft Alarm System.

Attached a snippet from the manual. They must have opened the door to trigger the alarm.

No doors were open and everything still locked though which is why I thought it was weird.

Now that's a possibility. I have 2 car seats in the back and my alarm has gone before if I bump the car too hard by accident
