Non Nightfall SX Prestige Waiting Room

Yesterday my car showed up on my dealers web site. I thought that didn't happen until the car was shipped but I guess I was wrong.

Hang on a few days Marc, mine will be ready any day now and need a space on your truck 😄
Hey @MarcinTexas Thanks for holding you're truck back a few days. Looks like my little SX has managed to hitch a ride and will be leaving with yours too :ROFLMAO:

Estimated Ship out 10/09 & 10/14 Arrival at the dealer (5 days earlier than my first ETA that has held pretty much throughout)

BOOM!!!

My dealer's automated updates are killing me! A few days ago the car shows up on the Edwards Kia website, and I get a marketing email from the dealer about new arrivals for me, with my VIN being one of them. I email my sales rep and ask if the ETA is still 10/22 and he confirms this.

This morning, I get an email with a "new on lot" status for my VIN.

Email my guy and show him a build schedule screenshot from a different SXP that got a VIN a day later than mine, and has delivery status of 10/14. Mine is still showing 10/22 and he provided the following explanation:

Okay okay... I can be patient. But sheesh, the conflicting info is kinda killing me! Ah well, good things will come to those who wait...

Great news! Been off the forums a bit today so what a nice surprise to see so many finally get their VIN. @PassingTime Did you get one?
There is one with most. but not all of what I ordered posted yesterday headed to the dealer I ordered from. Would think that it could be entered correctly if I went over my order list three times with both the sales and the general manager. Have not received call from dealer telling me they have a VIN as they promised but that is to be expected from my experience so far.

Just got the word...my Telluride has left the factory. Should be at the dealer on the 13th. Current plan is for my son and I to fly up to Dallas Saturday (10/17) early morning and pick it up before lunch. Will finally get to meet the illustrious @StephenCantrelle in person. This is getting real!! The extra days will give them time to tint my windows and get it all pretty and clean for me.

Happy for you man!

Sorry - hopefully you get a truck in the next day or so.
No problem, was just playing. I’m sure they’ll be another truck sooner or later. This is getting really real.

For me it’s the wife’s birthday on the 19th so hoping to pick up prior to that. Dates were a pure coincidence but what a birthday present! She knows we have it ordered but no idea what date it’s coming. Hoping to sneak off one morning “to work” in her car and arrive back later in a new Telluride. As long as she doesn’t go into the garage or decide to go to the store that day I should be golden.

Should give me a good indication how long mine will take once it leaves. I’ve been following you’re schedule very closely all along as it’s given me a great indication of how long mine should take, particularly with us going to the same dealer and receiving the same updates. #TeamCantrelle

What a difference a month makes. After a little more than a week - Oct SXP production has passed Sep total SXP production.. Anyone else get a VIN today?

Looks like I'm getting my nightfall right before the bottom fell off for production. Whew.
Imagine all the dealers... they look at data and tell all the clients... switch to nightfall and get sooner... now nightfalls have come to screeching halt... going to be alot of overpromising on turnarounds

Indeed, not a good spot to be in. Why KIA can't just have a nice balance of the two is beyond me. Then again I have no insight into the logistics of all that, but still.

I am sure they had huge stockpile on Nightfall parts ready to go... they milked that dry and now going back to batches.. (just my opinion) but I think we see a week or two of normal SXP than alternate to Nightfalls... and continue that pattern

Yeah - the pendulum really did swing in the opposite direction. However - considering you couldn't even order a Nightfall until a couple of months ago - it makes sense to clear up the long backlog of orders going into late last year of SXP orders. Hopefully once those are cleared they can get to a balanced production for all trims. The good news is that the factory is really pumping out Tellurides. I see inventory starting to rise on cars.com (I know - not a perfect barometer) which will help sales for people that need to walk in and buy one and don't want to wait for an order. If they can keep up the high production - we just might see Telluride sales balance out between supply and demand by end of the year or Q1 next year. After two years on the market - dealer markups might finally come to an end!

Then the madness over Sorento production begins :)

Good points, but as you mentioned before...Sorento is coming. Gonna be interesting to see how that shakes out.

Edit: ^^ You beat me to it lol
