Are those the more expensive or less expensive Hikaris? The best pic would be a down-the-road view with closer and further features for the lights to illuminate (or not).
An interesting twist would be for someone with the stock Telluride LED headlights (SX only, right?) to post a pic so that we can see how good they are compared to what we're trying to come up with aftermarket.
Thats exactly how mine were thats not good its not supposed to be like thisI got the hikari lights installed I’m just not sure if it’s supposed to look like this. (Prism effect)View attachment 1035
Zdatts so far working the best lolWhat is the overall vote right now for the replacement bulbs. From scanning the thread it looks like the Zdatts
Zdatts it is! LolZdatts so far working the best lol
Well said. One other detail. DON'T BELIEVE THE LUMENS THESE COMPANIES CLAIM! Lighting companies are notorious for making claims that they can't back up. Also, the color temperature impacts what we perceive we see. So a whiter light (higher temp) will appear to be brighter than a yellow (lower temp). All the issues being discussed here (dark spots, weird beam patterns, no long distance lighting, etc) are VERY common with LED bulbs, especially in a projector. # of lumens has NOTHING to do with how the led bulb+projector is able to put light down the road.
The projector in the Telluride has been optically engineered to put the most light down the road from a Halogen Filament. LED bulbs that replicate the exact position of the filament, and the way it emits light, *may* perform as good as the halogen bulb. More LED diodes is not necessarily helpful,, as the projector cannot take advantage of the light as it is out of position and not able to be focused by the projector as usable light. An LED bulb that works good in one car model projector may not work well in another car model projector.
Bottom line is it's a crap shoot to determine the LED bulb that works the best, as the projector was never optically engineered for an LED bulb. Generally speaking, HID bulbs are better able to replicate how halogen bulbs emit light, and work better than LED bulbs in projectors (more light, while maintaining a proper beam pattern). But even then, may not work well in the Palisade until someone tests it to see (projector designs vary).
Some of the more expensive LED bulbs have been engineered to replicate the halogen bulb's exact position - Diode Dynamic's SL1 and Morimoto's 2Stroke are two that come to mind.
Don't we need a 9005 bulb sizeIs a Sales gimmick
That looks awesome bro. We have the same color, I can't wait to take a final picture of the finished car with new wheels, emblems, and lights...gonna look nice. We're even wrapping the telluride decals black along with the silver trim on the rest of the car. I'll be sure to post the finished product at some point. Stoked!Installed mine tonight, looks great! Matches the DRLs perfectly and look nice and bright. (DRLs are on, just didn’t come out in the pics) Will report back on driving impressions soon.

Shhhhh nobody here wants to here the truth about this. All the issues being discussed here (dark spots, weird beam patterns, no long distance lighting, etc) are VERY common with LED bulbs, especially in a projector. # of lumens has NOTHING to do with how the led bulb+projector is able to put light down the road.

Which one did you order? Any pics of the road at night?Installed mine tonight, looks great! Matches the DRLs perfectly and look nice and bright. (DRLs are on, just didn’t come out in the pics) Will report back on driving impressions soon.

Well, I’m the owner and I had them designed to my specs, try finding them elsewhere since I own the rights....I highly doubt there is anything custom about the lights they sell. Order these from Amazon and install them yourself.
Hello everyone! My name is David, owner of Automotive Custom Lighting. We are looking into best lighting upgrades for this vehicle as we speak. We are a professional lighting shop that does installation and product sales. We mainly deal with Diode Dynamics as they are the only company in the USA that actually makes their own bulbs. They took the time and research into designing an LED bulb that will shine correctly in OEM projector and Reflective style headlight housings. Below is a link to that kit. Here soon we should have some test results for this vehicle specifically. We can build full on custom headlights or just do simple LED replacements. Feel free to check us out on Facebook or Instagram.
Most definitely looking forward to having some answers soon. Please keep us updated! I am very interested but before spending the money I would love to see test results![]()
