What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

Does anyone have advice on working with KMF? The advertised rate of 1.9% for 66 months is better than others I can find but I’ve heard it can be a bait and switch. What credit score do you need for this offer? What rate are they offering if you don’t qualify for it? Trying to shop around before it arrives in late December.

Hi, new to the forum. Looking for a dealer in So. California to do a nightfall sx prestige. Seems everyone wants $5k over MSRP.
Hey!! I guess dealers think the Tellurides that come to California are special and I found one for $2500 over and that was the best I did. That is why I’m using Stephen Cantrelle here on this website. He will ship your car to you for approximately one dollar a mile from Carrollton, Texas. Along with the pleasure of working with Stephen over other salesman who lied to me, I welcome this experience and recommend it totally! I am making a total vacation of it and flying in to pick up my car and driving it back to grass Valley California. That’s the best way to break in an engine anyway

720+ credit score is generally the line for qualifying for the top offers. Most of the time is not a bait and switch. It is up to you to understand before you go to your dealer what programs they are offering. Not every dealer participates in all of Kia's finance offerings and they do not have to. The other Kia offer that has been widely available is $500 rebate but you then finance at a slightly higher rate, say 2.75% for 60 months as opposed to the 1.9% (or 0.9% when that used to be around). There is also a Kia sponsored $400 rebate for military.

A bait and switch would be if the dealer tells you that they are offering all of the Kia promotions but then do not. Check with your salesman prior to taking delivery (or even ordering) to be sure you understand what to expect and to avoid surprises. If you do not like the offers they have for financing then you can work with your local banks or credit unions to line up financing prior to delivery.

Thanks for the advice. Someone mentioned they were denied the 1.9% rate with 789 FICO score, which seemed dubious. But I wasn’t sure specifically what Kia means by “Only a limited number of customers will qualify for advertised APR.” but you’re right I’ll reach out to the dealer before the vehicle arrives.

Great question on number of available offers. With that high of a FICO I would not expect to be declined in any way. Could be other factors, such as being over extended or employment, but the FICO alone would not have been an issue.

I was speaking with one dealer and they told us we MUST finance through KMF for any Telluride we purchase with them. BUT, they would only offer the $500 rebate and associated rate and not the low apr rate. They also insisted that we must hold the loan for 90+ days before refinancing or paying off. That 90 day thing has been debunked many times by many people on this forum who have successfully paid off immediately after receiving their loan account information. The reason a dealer would say this is because they receive their kickback once the loan is 90+ days mature. As you can imagine, I told them thanks but no thanks and worked with another dealer that was more transparent, honest and offered all incentives.

While the Kia brand is not commonly associated with being Luxury, the Telluride is a Luxury SUV. Go test drive an Audi Q7, Land Rover, Navigator, BMW M7, etc.

Then compare it to the Telluride. The Telluride is every bit a Luxury SUV at a non-luxury price. Hence the reason whose who are wise enough to recognize it may be willing to pay more than MSRP.
The SX is 50k and if you pay overe MSRP your up there. For a couple thousand more you can buy a luxury brand and you wont have to be seen in a KIA

I test drove one today (EX model), they had 4 at the dealership I went to. They didnt seem to know of any promotions, I didnt feel like playing that game and said like me know when you can take 5-6k of the sticker. Dont think Ill be getting a call anytime soo.
Im with you I have purchased a lot of vehicles in my life and never paid more than 3% below MSRP. No veihicle is worth paying that amount. Those dealers are laphing all the way to the bank.

White (+ $495) LX AWD with carpeted floor mats (+ $210). $5k down $450/mo 24 mo lease 12k miles/yr, which works out to about $50/mo more than what the lease special offer is on the kia website after tax title license. At Kia Country, Manteca, CA, USA. Made this offer to 3 dealers with 100 miles with that car in stock, only this one took it (Roseville and Vacaville wanted $6k and $10k over msrp iirc). I've never leased before and maybe it is a bad idea but just thought I would try it. I drive 20k miles per year but I still have my pos 2014 silverado LTZ z71 to drive when I blow past 1000 miles each month on the Telluride.

I just bought a 2021 Kia Telluride SX AWD with the nightfall, prestige, and tow package at MSRP + Taxes and fees so was out the door at 54k in change at Kia of Irvine and used Annie Cuevas though I negotiated for a few weeks and was able to talk down the 5k markup to no mark up which was approved by her manager. They tried to sell me the extended warrenty at 5500 but said no as I was able to get the Kia platinum warrenty via Kia of Muncie Ind for 1500.
What color?

And you'll be driving the base model of that vehicle with no options to speak of vs a fully loaded KIA.

You can get a fully loaded Acura MDX for 52k. A lexus RX350l for 54k. The thing with luxury brands is luxury items are standard.
